When I listen to these lyrics, I immediately think "Dateline NBC", hands down. I picture a 40 year old man singing to a young girl who he wrote to online. She's all alone in her house, he's standing outside trying to get in--probably with beer and condoms. He knows her better than anyone because she talks to him over the internet, expressing all her secrets. People say he'll do her wrong, because he's a pedophile but he's convincing her that she doesn't have to be afraid. That's pretty silly, thinking about it now. I also think it's about a girl with low self-esteem and needs to realize that she can't hide behind the shadows any more. |

This song makes me smile and laugh every time I listen to it. I blast it in my car and just imagine people watching me and listening to the song and thinking "what the f*** is this?!" it's so crazy that it's brilliant. some people look at this song and think "this is the most annoying song I've ever heard" and the rest of us (the smart ones) see it for the hilarious masterpiece that it is. love it. |

They start talking, and the girl's really excited because she's never had a boyfriend and the thought of dating an older boy makes it even better. The man knows what he's doing is wrong and that he'll end up breaking her heart or doing something completely stupid so he regrettably leaves her.
