| Metronomy – The Bay Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| I agree, I think it's supposed to be soul, as an homage to Hall & Oates's "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)", specifically the line "You've got the body, now you want my soul". | |

This is a very beautiful song, one that I hold close to my heart and which seems to be the perfect soundtrack of a life I used to live. I believe the lyrics are about denial to do with the pain of growing up past adolescence to the point where you finally have autonomy, but you no longer have freedom due to societal expectations of your responsiblities as an adult human being. "Now I'm just chasing time with a thousand dreams I'm holding heavy" I believe this means the protagonist doesn't have enough time, but has many unfulfilled desires. "And as we cross the line these fading beats have all been severed" By the time a goal has been accomplished, it no longer bears the same reward, perhaps? "Don't tell me our youth is running out It's only just begun" Refusal to accept aging. Just a guess, I most probably am wrong. Still, stunning song. |

| I know the song's about taking the piss out of vocal acrobatics, but does anyone get a feeling it also references the transition to the Euro? | |
| Holly Throsby – Now I Love Someone Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| The guitar opening seems like it was ripped off Devendra Banhart's "This Is The Way" (2004). | |
| Kelly Clarkson – Dark Side Lyrics | 13 years ago |

| Guillemots – Up On The Ride Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This song is so amazing it's unbelievable. I get a euphoric rush once the guitars come in during the text-to-speech converter's segment. | |
| Holly Throsby – Now I Love Someone Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This is such a beautiful song, it's a shame not many people know that it's by Holly Throsby, it's just "the insurance ad" song here. | |
| Fiona Apple – Anything We Want Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This song is simply, utterly amazing. During the first week listening to it I would just be on the verge of tears because of how sad and intense the sense of longing in the verses are. | |
| Alex Winston – Sister Wife Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Indeed! The first time I watched it I thought it was merely a Hausu homage and didn't see the underlying sexual meaning. | |

Your lyrics are terrible, they're all wrong. Hydrogen in our veins, it cannot hold itself, my blood is boiling And the pressure in our bodies, that echoes up above, it is exploding And our particles that burn, it is all because they yearn for each other And although we stick together, it seems that we are stranging one another Feel it on me love Feel it on me love Feel it on me love (Strangeness and Charm) See it on me love See it on me love See it on me love (Strangeness and Charm) An atom to atom oh can you feel it on me love A pattern to pattern oh can you see it on me love Atom to atom oh what's the matter with me love Strangeness and Charm The static from your arms, it is a catalyst You're a chemical that burns, there is nothing like this It's the purest element, but it's so volatile An equation heaven sent, and you'll forever inject Strangeness and Charm Feel it on me love Feel it on me love Feel it on me love (Strangeness and Charm) See it on me love See it on me love See it on me love (Strangeness and Charm) An atom to atom oh can you feel it on me love and A pattern to pattern oh can you see it on me love Atom to atom oh what's the matter with me love Strangeness and Charm The static from your arms, it is a catalyst You're a chemical that burns, there is nothing like this It's the purest element, but it's so volatile An equation heaven sent, and you'll forever inject Strangeness and Charm x10 The static from your arms, it is a catalyst You're a chemical that burns, there is nothing like this It's the purest element, but it's so volatile An equation heaven sent, and you'll forever inject Feel it on me love Feel it on me love Feel it on me love (Strangeness and Charm) See it on me love See it on me love See it on me love (Strangeness and Charm) Feel it on me love Feel it on me love Feel it on me love (Strangeness and Charm) See it on me love See it on me love See it on me love (Strangeness and Charm) Oh, Oh, Down, Down down down x4 |

| Björk – Cosmogony Lyrics | 14 years ago |

The song title is perfectly apt for the lyrics. In this song, Bjork is a story-teller, telling us the stories of how the universe came to be. In the first verse, she is telling us about the theory of creation from Miwok mythology. In this story, Silver Fox and Coyote created earth by dancing and singing, as before there was only water. In the second verse, Bjork references the myth of Pangu which is Tao in origin. What Bjork didn't mention was that Pangu's body parts became components of the world as we know after his death (his eyes became the sun and the moon, his muscles the earth, and so on). In the third verse, she gives us some insight into The Dreaming, which forms the core of Australian Aboriginal culture. In this one, ancestral beings shaped the landscape from a formless land during an era known as Dreamtime. And the final verse is of course the conventional Big Bang model. Hope that helps. :) |
