| Pantera – Primal Concrete Sledge Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| i cant believe no one understands what this song is about. its about standing together to revolt against a systems corruption that has us shackled and blinded. hes saying its time to get out our sledges and break down that concrete wall that our system and society has built to block us from truely living a life of freedom. he nails it in the first verse by stating the worlds biggest problem and biggest superpower- which is the capitalistic control over all of our most important survival resources by means of a monetary economic system. its a song about revoutioniving by living differently. not very many lyrics in this song- and they're not needed, cuz phil has a way of speaking a thousand words by only using a few sentences. phil is actually a very wise person. and if u want a better understanding as to what hes talking about in this song- got to the website www.zeitgeist.com. watch part 1 first- its free. u wont look at the world the same way. its actually quite scary- but ingnorance is far from bliss- but then again- knowledge is even further from anything bliss- but fuck it! dont put ur head in the sand- just watch it- and then spread the god damn word. if u dont believe in revolution- u must watch it! once u have- u will ache for revolution. and if u still think revolution is too radical after seeing this movie- then u seriously lack compassion for human life. primal concrete sledge should have been the theme song for zeitgeist. fuck ingsoc- fuck money, and fuck any form of government or political party and any organized belief. do what thou wilt, and do it to your hearts content so long as your freedom does not interfere with your fellow mans. the world is yours for the taking. it belongs to you. all of it.and 2+2 equals whatever the fuck you want it to- big brother has proved over and over that he is terrible w/ math because he simply has no use for it. fuck all the large bank owners hiding behind their political curtains, they need to be publicly executed. time for primal concrete sledge to break down this wall that controls us with its tight grip of induced fear, lies, manipulation and omissionizing power abusively infultrated. its time to rise. phil is most definitely a revolutionist. and he is not blatant about this- and there is good reason 4 that.. its time for the twisted dream to come true. awareness is the key.===www.zeitgeist.com-its no bullshit- every piece is fact. orson wells was right in his fears only it started long b4 1984 and actually about a hundred years b4 he wrote the book in 1948- he just didnt know it. | |

you pretty much nailed it. another importance in the message of 'broken" changes also. first chorus referring to broken spirit and the rest referring to breaking the chains. |

| Pantera – 25 Years Lyrics | 15 years ago |

"You'll never be the father I am. The bastard father to The thousands of the ugly, criticized, the unwanted. The Ones with fathers just like you." those words have stuck w/ me for years. its not hard to figure out the whats be being said and to who in this song. phil gets right to the point on this one. no band in the fucking world has a tighter following then pantera- phil said it right when he said pantera changed so many lives. no other music has had such a powerful, direct, positive, and personal impact on its fans lives like it has for the panteras' pack- not elvis, michael jackson, or the fucken beatles-there is no comparing pantera to anything else let alone any main stream bullshit.pantera truely helped me on understanding the 'lessons of life' at a time when i had a hard time interpreting them let alone experiencing them. panteras music is an optical lens for the eye of life. if it wasnt for pantera, i wouldn't be "broken". but thanks partly to this song- which is very sentimental to me- i broke the chains and inherited my life. "im broken" is another good one about phils parent life. vulgar and far beyonds lyrics are a dose of wisdom and a dose of cognitive reinforcement. 25 years was written in '93. phil was born in 68 which makes him "25 years" when he wrote it. i think him using his age as the title of the song is a reference to him finally feeling free or "broken" if u will- , for the first time in his 25 years. this is a personal song for phil- where his message to his father is that he is still bitter at his dad. phils dad owns several restaurants and bars and strip clubs in NOLA- so alcohol was an easy resource- and his dad was a tyrrant when he was drunk. his old man taught him how to box- and sometimes the sparring didnt involve gloves or headgear when his dad was drunk. ironically phil is actually close to his parents- but he wrote this song and "im broken" @ about the same time because he had a few things he obviously needed to get off his chest. it worked for me too. this song is definiteley one of the masterpieces of metal. and after 17 yrs- its still ahead of its time, and will continue to be even 8 yrs from now. r.i.p DB |
