I think this song is about a couple that was together, but then they broke up. But "I'll be coming for you love, ok" is him saying that he wants to get back together, and she is "shying away" not too sure about being able to trust him again. But when it says "Take on me" Its like the guy holding out his hand for her to take, and trying to get her back, but then it says "Ill be gone in a day or two" and he leaves her again. "Stumbling away, Slowly learning that life is ok" I think is when she leaves him for doing that to her twice, and the guy is trying to get away, but it is hard for him, losing her. "It's no better to be safe than sorry" is him really regretting it, and he might be trying to get her back a third time. Then its the "Take on me" him getting her back again. She accepts him back, but then it happens again, and they break up once more. And when it says "The things that you say, Is it live or just to play" Is her trying to leave him, because she is over him, and she is so hurt and betrayed, she says mean things to him. Then he is really trying to get her back, and she is "shying away" Then he tries get her once more with the last "Take on me" and she doesn't, and the song is over and they are split up forever....
I have no clue if im right, but thats just what i think it is... Its sad, and happy, and sad, and happy and then sad again, and oh so addicting to listen to... LONG LIVE THE 80'S!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish i was alive in the 80s though... xD |
