This is such a beautiful, honest song. I love it. To me, and I might be way off here, this song is about someone on the edge of death, possibly the victim of a car crash (star shattered highway.) She's thinking about her lover and how she doesn't want to leave him. I wondered how this day would come Sure as the night falls Sure as the snow (death is a sure thing, she didn't expect it to happen like this) Love be brave Burn all the maps and let the Ashes blow away (she's saying she wants him to move on) Still waiting for forever to come (I'm right behind you) (she's waiting for him, then he says he's coming) |

| Wow this is my favorite AFF song except Almost Lover. It's amazing. This is one of her few songs that doesn't use some kind of cryptic symbolism (like Ashes and Wine, Rangers) Not that there's anything wrong with those songs. I just really love this one because it's easy to apply to yourself. Alot of people have that person that helps them heal from the last heartbreak. When I first heard this I thought of New Moon. It should be on the soundtrack! The lyrics are so perfect for the story. | |
