| Laura Marling – Is a Hope (Drinking Alone) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
The "is a hope" part reminds me of Bonnie 'Prince' Billy's song "I See A Darkness. "Is a hope that somehow you, you can save me from this darkness." Laura Marling has said that she is inspired by that song in this interview here. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/features/laura-marling--sweet-taste-of-success-for-a-shy-songstress-2218048.html "The first time she heard Bonnie "Prince" Billy's "I See a Darkness" was a momentous occasion and a turning point for her songwriting. "It was like a shock to the system," she told an interviewer. 'It was almost as if I shouldn't have been listening to it, as if I was invading his emotions.'" Maybe this song is in a way inspired by that. |

| Noah and the Whale – Rocks and Daggers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Such a beautiful song. I love Laura's vocals in it. They're what really made me love it. Especially at the end when she finishes it off by herself. | |

I think it's- And I know, I know what you've been through, You think I don't care but I really do. And I know, I know that it hurts you, But you've been clean six years, Now what would you do? This song is great. |

| Johnny Flynn – All The Dogs Lying Down Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song is one of Johnny Flynn's best and my personal favorite. The words are pure poetry. He always writes with such eloquence. And the words he chooses - saith, e'er, nought, ne'er. He uses them with such ease to create a beautiful sound. | |
| The Beatles – Something Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Excuse me, FelixCloud, but that is your opinion. You have no right to go around saying that Bob Dylan was just an average singer. "After 40 years, he can't sing." If that's the case, I don't know why so many people still go to his concerts. I have been to a concert of his, and he can still sing. You wouldn't like it if someone took a person you thought was the greatest songwriter and bashed them, would you? And "You have ears, don't just hear, LISTEN!" really? How rude. | |
