This is definitely my favorite song on the album! O! I love this album! I don't know why people haven't accepted it as well as the other one. The vocals are wonderful, the lyrics are haunting and somewhat ambiguous, and the way it's all tied up with such daring musicality is delicious! I love that they took risks and went in a different direction than on the first album. They've shown so much growth. |

What I got from this song was that a child, probably teen, has just witnessed or lived through his mother committing suicide or dying in some seemingly unfair way and now he wants to join her in heaven. the small child's voice could be him reverting back to his child self in feeling or memory where he was safe with her. Maybe the world without her seems dark and grim. |

I think some of these lyrics are wrong. I haven't seen the official lyrics, but some of this doesn't make sense. When I listen I hear "I haven't spoke to you in a year things I've wanted to say" and "blackened by the debt (or dirt?) that you made to smear my name" and "for deeming me as bad company" and "I beg for days to know why your letting go" and she screams "I'm not letting go!"
I think it makes more since when you try to figure out what it means. The speaker in this song is clearly talking about an old friend/now enemy who tried to stir rumors and lies up about him, but it backfired and now they aren't friends anymore. The "poison in your throat" is the negative words the other person tried to use against him. |
