This is by far one of my favourite Bob Evans songs. I think the meaning is relatively straightforward. The imagery of sinking, loneliness and isolation is something that I think most people can relate to at some point. To me, it relates to thinking. Those moments where you're just not sure where to go next. Maybe you need to fix things, or just sink away for a bit. "The waves spat vitriol against the cliffs. As if to beckon me." Brilliant. |

I love this song. Always have. Used to listen to it as a little girl with the cassette player in my room. I like the imagery of going unnoticed - but then having this marvellous hidden talent. Something awe-inspiring. I think it stresses the idea of looking for the inner self - your true identity. It's such a sweet song. Love it. |

This thread should be merged with 'One Life Stand' - the correct song title, as noted by the users above. I agree with SirSpandex's lyrics suggestions. 'Conscience' is a better fit. |

I agree with both datewiththenight and Sunnyhill... This song just makes me instantly happy. It's uplifting and fun. The awkwardness sparked by a new attraction is an addictive, giddy feeling. The imagery 'neon lights', 'fireworks' captures the essence of falling for someone. Such an awesome song. |
