Pasha Bulker Lyrics

I took my worries to the waters edge
To drown them peacefully
Saw my reflection
O’er the horizon
A stranded ship like me

Where did I go wrong?
Oh where did I go wrong?

To be like the sun
Sinking in to the sea

The waves spat vitriol against the cliffs
As if to beckon me
If I keep walking it’s all over
I stare out to the sea

Where did I go wrong?
Oh where did I go wrong?

To be like the sun
Sinking in to the sea
Oh to be like the sun
Sinking in to the sea

Where did I go wrong?
Oh where did I go wrong?

This is by far one of my favourite Bob Evans songs. I think the meaning is relatively straightforward. The imagery of sinking, loneliness and isolation is something that I think most people can relate to at some point. To me, it relates to thinking. Those moments where you're just not sure where to go next. Maybe you need to fix things, or just sink away for a bit.

"The waves spat vitriol against the cliffs. As if to beckon me." Brilliant.
