well, at first i thought the song was about how he felt dead or worthless to a girl, but then i saw "Hello, I'm sorry that I wasn't listening. Why the long face, man?" ..aand now im not so sure. perhaps it could be about how he's been trying to do right by people, but they don't seem to see his actions, and he feels dead to them? |

okay, ive only really listened to this song once or twice.. aand looking at the lyrics; im just assuming that he 'likes to dance' :P haha ahm.. i think the songs about how the music was created for them to dance to, and he wants what he can get to dance with the music. |

wow. first comment; surprising. okay, i think this song is about how the anchors are pulling him down so to speak- like, hes being dragged down by bad mistakes and wrong turns in his life; thus the first verse of the song: "i have so many anchors so many, so many (so many anchors) far too many to be sailing on these seas (they're pulling me under and i just want to be freed but i'm just drowning and clasping) to the tinder and twine not the firm planks and rope that i know to be mine that i know to be mine" awesome song, i have to say :D |

I agree with hetalialovesyou :) It truly is an amazing song. My thoughts on what the song is about leads in the direction that, no matter what he tries to change, it all ends up the same, and that he wouldn't blame anyone for that. |

Okay.. At first I thought this song was about him being left alone, like just being dumped.. but now I think it's about him ready to give up everything and start everything with a new girl. "This is the end, this is the end of me This is the start, this is the start of us" My first interpretation came from the first line of the chorus-ey bit, until I listened to it further, and heard the second part. |
