I know that this was written to represent signing to the record label, but this is my interpretation: When I really listened to these lyrics, I thought about someone losing their virginity, and then regretting it. "you convinced yourself that you want it but you don't know"- people are almost always unsure on the first time, aren't they? "you keep on trying to wash the blood from your hands but it won't go" - when it's over, your innocence is lost and you can't get it back. It's kinda sad that I automatically thought of this of all things upon hearing this song.. yes I know. But it is what it is, I guess. |

this song PERFECTLY represents how me and my ex's relationship was. "i could have been easier on you, i could have been all you held onto. i know i wasn't fair, i tried my best to care about you. i know i could have been a better man, but always had to have the upper hand i'm struggling to see the better side of me but i can't take all your jabs and taunts" he thinks he screwed me over and still regrets that we broke up, but he also thinks i treated him like dirt when in reality he was cheating- although i can honestly take some blame. I think this is about trying to calm down from being very angry about a certain situation. "So you tried to put a fire out, but you used gasoline"- the person was trying to calm down, but thought about the situation more and got themselves even more furious. "and when the congregation gathered round you were screaming "it wasn't me""- the person is trying, but can't explain why they're so angry.
