Some of the the lines ("They smile in your face when all they want to do is take your place/them backstabbers") are from the song "Backstabbers" by the O'Jays. |

Am I the only one who doesn't "buy" baby-faced, squeaky-voiced Rihanna singing about S&M? They're just trying to market her as hard-edged to keep up with the Lady Gagas, Ke$has, etc. But c'mon, Rihanna is about as badass as Snow White. |

I don't think it's about fetishes; he's just trying to seduce an inexperience girl, i.e. virgin. "Show you the ropes" is just a figure of speech (it means teaching); the "side of love you've never known" is sex. |

This song has nothing to do with molestation or with her relatinship with God. It's about how she cheats on her boyfriend but wants to change.
"I've got to make a play/to make my lover stay" -- I'm sure she wouldn't refer to God or a molestor as her "lover," nor would she make a play for the molestor to stay. She has a compulsion to cheat, but she feels guilty and wants to stop. She is confiding in the listener for help: "I've come to you/'cause I need guidance to be true." |

| Todd Rundgren – It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference Lyrics

Sorry, shoexy, but that is one convoluted and rambling explanation. The song is not written in the perspective of the girl; that makes no sense. Why would Todd sing pretending to be his ex-girlfriend? When he says "I" he means "I, Todd" and the "you" is the girlfriend. He is singing about how, during their relationship, he was always reassuring her about how faithful and honest and devoted he was, but it wasn't enough for her and then she called to break it off. This song is Todd speaking to his ex-girlfriend again, telling her that he never loved him enough to trust him, so "those days are through;" he will not be taking her back. Interesting interpretation but again, it's too convoluted. People don't sing songs in the perspective of their boyfriend/girlfriend; only from their own. |

It should be "he's a lover/ I need a friend" not "easy lover/I need a friend." The former really makes no sense, plus if you listen that's clearly not what she said. The physical part is good and satisfying, but the relationship is rocky and she is emotionally unsatisfied (she needs a friend, not just a lover) but is afraid to leave because then she'll be lonely ("too much of nothing is just as tough"). |

This song is about the singer trying to seduce a virgin --that's what the "I'll be the teacher/I'll show you the ropes" is about, as well as "you'll see a side of love you've never known." So it's creepy that he then says "get down to business, let's skip foreplay." Jerk! And the heavy breathing part is creepy. I hope the girl slaps him. |
