Manchester Orchestra – Where Have You Been Lyrics 14 years ago
To finally clear this up...especially for all the people who make an account with the name of a person in the band and people go 'ZOMG he in band he right!!!11!1!!!1' ( also as a side note i saw someone do this for Einstein when discussing if a qoute from him was real or not, I suppose that was actually him as well. Band members frequent this site right? lol). Google the phrase 'Jesse Lacey, Kevin Devine, Andy Hull Witty Banter' or 'Jesse Lacey, Kevin Devine, Andy Hull joy harmonies'. This should make it very clear as to what these three ( including the author of the song ) think the lyrics to the song, he ya know, wrote are. I'm pretty sure he would know lol. Check it out its really entertaining anyway.

Finally, anyone of you who thought it said 'God' either heard the song once and were confused because it does say 'Joy, my God, my God' or, and I mean this in all seriousness, you should get a hearing test because mixing up those consonant sounds is going to be a problem in everyday life if you can't tell the difference between them.

Also, I dont know who actually has "credit" as writing this song ( Ive always heard its collaborative between them) but check this out: http://johnnolanmusic.tumblr.com/post/2674448520/the-soundtrack-to-my-strange-formative-years possible evidence of what I was saying. An interesting post either way. Hope you enjoy.

Taking Back Sunday – This Is All Now Lyrics 14 years ago
Was Adam or John's father some sort of clergy? I have tried to find out info about there parents but its HARD to do. I know they are from religious families but it seems to me this song is about someone important in their life that harped on religion while the author was growing up but never "practiced what they preached". It has the feeling, to me, like he is saying "Alright I am a fully grown adult at this point I deserve to get some closure on this". Maybe whichever one penned most of the lyrics dealt with some physical abuse or maybe its someone they know and are close with that behaves in this way toward there own children. Just my take but I thought maybe this would help get the convo going on this song because its a really imporant piece from this album. I absolutely think this song being about Chauntelle ( married to someone else with a child now lol ) or previous band mates is pretty silly. And Rubano and Fazzi didn't leave on horrible terms or anything. Nothing like John or Fred.

Taking Back Sunday – Miami Lyrics 14 years ago
All these years and only one person actually mentioned the "song meaning" Adam stated clearly on their blog. This song is about his addiction to blow. plain and simple. "The faith you've found I've never felt" could be about Fred ( as someone mentioned ) having to be in a group with people with similar religious roots. Adam discusses his struggles with the beliefs he was raised on and what he truly believe him self often ( quite a bit in the most recent albums ). Finally, the wedding bells thing is sort of open to interpretation in context. Personally, i think he was speaking about considering going to treatment but doesn't want to commit to it. "The comfort in there's no else", to me could be him saying he doesn't think he can live without using any drugs. When coke became the problem for him he was quoted as saying "I can't not drink at all" so he knew even if he got away from the drugs he still was gonna be a drinker, this is probably an out there interp for most on that point but it makes sense in my mind as how people often feel about going to get help. So yea, its a pretty cut and dry case. Anyone, who has had a short stint with the drug can tell you exactly what "every hour on the hour" is referring to lol. Remember also, he went in to rehab during the promotion phase for this album ( i believe ) sometime around when the cover art and jacket were being sown up. Much of this album shows pretty clearly where his head was at during the making of it.

Coheed and Cambria – The Black Rainbow Lyrics 15 years ago
didn't read all the comments because there were so many but i don't understand how people can be so misinformed and state things as facts. This is absolutely a "prequel" album. Buy the book! its a prequel too lol. This song is about the black rainbow (see title) its the way the citizens of the fence felt based on the appearance of the black rainbow. Nothing to do with the writer or erica court. He wasn't even part of the story here. Claudio wrote in the writer as the only way to deal with his emotions at the time of GA:I because forcing that stuff into the actual story line would've been lame. Also the lyrics you ahve up there are really off "we were stealing your heart" is the actual lyrics I also believe at some points it says "its over little boy" but Im not sure if that was in the liner notes (thoug they are often different when the album comes out anyway with coheed) I may be entirely wrong about that last bit but the rest is pretty much common knowledge on cobaltandcalcium.com and the fact that is a prequel is, well, silly to contest because you obviosuly dind't read the novel or listen to anything claudio said since the release of NWFT

Coheed and Cambria – Made Out of Nothing (All That I Am) Lyrics 15 years ago
I've always thought this was leonards thoughts right before he goes to attempt an assasination on deftinwolf. This isn't one of my theories that I believe to be absolutely true, however.

Coheed and Cambria – In the Flame of Error Lyrics 15 years ago
No ya'll. This song is leonard hohenberger working on the monstar virus while Ryan has Pearl locked away. He is about to give him the virus that could destroy man kind hence the "im a muderer, the worse the worlds have seen". "Cause they won't let her go and I remain so
alone to work out a clever way to get home" is him thinking about how he can take this situation and flip it to his advantage. which in the end he does accomplish. Very little of the lyrics on this album are actually about coheed and cambria directly.

Coheed and Cambria – Here We Are Juggernaut Lyrics 15 years ago
natehaven has it pretty much spot on and zerokenetic has a really cool idea. However, I think it feels that way because of the reason this song was written from a personal stand point on claudio's part. Remember although all the songs are related to the book and the story he also wrote them for emotional carthasis for something he was feeling. He wrote this particular song after he was freaking out because chondra was away at a wedding on a remote island where she didn't get cell service and he hated not talking to her and was feeling a little insecure so they were fighting but when she got back he realized none of that mattered and they were unstoppable together. (Yea it sounds a little emo and controlling but if you know any of their past then...well yea not so much lol).

Coheed and Cambria – Guns of Summer Lyrics 15 years ago
I mentioned this on cobaltandcalcium but it seems most feel that this is about the riot where joseph is killed and I agree with this to an extent. However, I believe the "Guns of Summer" that are "cold as winter" are the fire truck hoses they fire onto the crowd during the parade through apitimy prime that are filled with champagne. The story states a night of wild dabauchery ensues and this could be the reference "point and watch them run" its a little out there but it fits with the way claudio writes and thinks. Its a sort of double meaning imo.

Coheed and Cambria – Far Lyrics 15 years ago
yea its definitely about pearl and the doctor. I even think claudio threw in the "FLIES" before the guitar solo to reinforce the point here. Can't think of another reason for putting that in there at that point in the story other than she was really focused on them during this point in the story and barely communicating with Leonard ( if i recall correctly ).

Coheed and Cambria – Welcome Home Lyrics 16 years ago
I didn't read all of these but in case no one mentioned this:

Hang on to the glory of my right hand
Here laid to rest is our love ever longed?
With truth on the shores of compassion
You seem to make premise to all of these songs

the first two lines are erica asking him to not kill off the ambelina character imo. To hang on to the good things and not lay them to rest forever as he wishes to do and as ten speed urges him to do up next. Always think about the layers of people from claudio in real life, to the writer, to cladio kilgannon.
