We Were Promised Jetpacks – With the Benefit of Hindsight Lyrics 12 years ago
That sounds about right to me.

Twin Atlantic – Yes, I was drunk Lyrics 12 years ago
I've got a very acute ear for Scottish accents (90% of my iTunes collection has been Scottish bands for years, and I had a Scottish professor for a year in college) and I agree that it's definitely "lines" rather than "lights".

And it does indeed make more sense, as lines "mark out the road", not lights.

Moving Mountains – Furnace woods Lyrics 12 years ago
Agreed. That said, beautiful song. Especially the acoustic version.

Biffy Clyro – Street Love Lyrics 13 years ago
Thanks, mate. Some of their newer stuff is so hard to decipher. O_o

Twin Atlantic – Yes, I was drunk Lyrics 13 years ago
I'm almost sure it's "Ignoring the lines" rather than "ignoring the lights". They sound almost identical with his accent, but it sounds much more like "lines" to me, and it makes more sense.

Biffy Clyro – Do You Remember What You Came For? Lyrics 13 years ago
I think this song is about asking those questions that are difficult to answer. "Why don't we talk anymore?" "What happened to us?" "Where did we go wrong?"

There really isn't a right answer. The only answer is "people change," but that just sounds rude and cynical. So, in answer to the question, the person asks something like: "Why are you here?" "What do you want from me?" (Do you remember what you came for?)

The line "the children" could represent "the good ol' times" when everyone was younger.

Just the way I've always interpreted the song; two old friends or lovers realizing that things have changed, and not knowing why exactly.

Biffy Clyro – Let's Get Smiling Lyrics 13 years ago
I think this is about pretending to be okay, even when you're not. More specifically, I think it's about pretending not to miss someone when they're gone; letting the grief show would make it real, and it would be too much to take.

"When you're not around, we just laugh and smile."

Biffy Clyro – Liberate the Illiterate/A Mong Among Mingers Lyrics 13 years ago
This is easily one of my favorite Biffy songs.

As for the meaning, I don't have any solid ideas. My first listen, I thought it was about the general deterioration of human knowledge and sense, but it's anyone's guess. The Vertigo of Bliss as a whole is a very bizarre album in terms of lyrics.

Biffy Clyro – Diary of Always Lyrics 14 years ago
I agree 100%. I went through this, and am still going through this, with a girl. This song fits my feelings so perfectly.

Twin Atlantic – Caribbean War Syndrome Lyrics 14 years ago
The "Push in our eyes" part is almost certainly correct. And the correct line is definitely "We will fight the future" not "guitar."

As for the "Kill em all" / "Come on" lines, it sounds like he sings, "Kill em all, come on." So I don't think it's only one or the other he's singing.

Biffy Clyro – Now I'm Everyone Lyrics 14 years ago
Agreed. He says either, "It's less than I've ever been," or, "That's less than I've ever been."
