I'm sure the heavy breathing is no indication of the subject matter XP

Gackt – Vanilla Lyrics 16 years ago
A quick *and sexy* note on the Japanese lyrics that I found on animelyrics.com

- ah boku ga boku de iraremasu you ni
- ah 僕がボクでいられマスように ((if that shows up, anyways)

the "-masu" ending, Gackt intentionally writes it in katakana (rather hiragana, the other alphabet). It means "masturbate".

You can also see that he uses katakana for "boku"/"I", and that's throughout the song. (Also for the word for "kimi"/"you") The katakana really accents those words, especially with -

- boku wa... kimi no... vanilla
- ボくは...キミの... vanilla

/I/ am /YOUR/ Vanilla. Trés sexy, non? <3

**If the Japanese characters don't show up, please visit animelyrics.com in order to see them =D

Basshunter – Sverige Lyrics 16 years ago
I wanted to include this song on the Basshunter list, because this instrumental is actually Sweden's national anthem, but more upbeat. :)

Kissing Violet – Feel The Disease Lyrics 16 years ago
This song gained popularity by being the opening theme song to the iManga version of Bizenghast - made available by Tokyopop and is on Youtube. Not an interpretation, but useful information nonetheless.

"Call Me Violet" is a remake of Blondie's "Call Me" - and I'm a fan of both versions ^^

Basshunter – Boten Anna Lyrics 16 years ago
The song - and especially the music video does a sort of double entrendre with "bot", because the pronunciation does sound like the English "boat". So there's a play on words when he talks about Anna cleaning up the channel.

I had no idea that she was a real person though - or so the Basshunter guy thought XP That's so cute!

3OH!3 – Starstrukk Lyrics 16 years ago
I love how this song sounds mostly like an apology. Not a great one, but still an attempt.

Notice how he says: "I *think* I should know, how to make love to someone innocent without leaving my fingerprints out" // Not know, he thinks he knows. There's a tone of uncertainty in that line - it's subtle, but there.

"L-O-V-E is just another word I never learned how to pronounce" // Apologetic. I never even learned how to say it, let alone do it.

And "How do I say I'm sorry 'cause the word is just never gonna come out" // The key line, also apologetic.

"Now, L-O-V-E is just another word I never learned how to pronounce" // Now, it's almost too late.

He lusts after anyone and anything, usually those that seem to put out and want the attention. (see through shirt, daisy dukes, for example). He sort of feels sorry about it, because he understands that he's hurting innocent girls (virgins, those that haven't been hurt before), but he ultimately feels incapable of being steady and in love, or even saying "I'm sorry".

That is my interpretation.

They're not perverts - hormones are completely normal, even for boys.

Can I just say how much I love you ~ for providing some thought into this song, rather commenting on how much you love/hate this track? :D

Mindless Self Indulgence – Never Wanted to Dance Lyrics 16 years ago
I quite honestly don't know what you're trying to convey to me, but I only posted on an opinion on what the lyrics might mean - at least to me. This is no way affiliated to what someone else may be offended by/pissed of at.

This isn't a forum to dump any personal problems you have with gay men (?) or your inability to cope with people in general. Please direct them somewhere else, or you can even message me in a calm fashion - if you're so intent to pour out your anger at me.

Mindless Self Indulgence – Never Wanted to Dance Lyrics 16 years ago
So I read all the previous comments, then decided that I'd have to go with both gut instinct and the music video if I wanted a clear picture of the meaning. To be clear, I know they're fucking random, but they have a point in the song - you could only argue that if the words were a string of random, but even then, you have to argue that there was no relationship between them. Anyway.

The music video shows a DDR tournament in an underground type of place. Everyone has fun and dances and shows off until the police break it up. Conclusion? It alludes directly to dancing with someone. The topic of masturbation sounds logical, but it never struck me when I first heard it.

I think it's literally about wanting to dance with someone, getting pissed at a girl, and whining about it in a twisted sort of love confession.

The line: "There's nothing you can do that I haven't already done to myself"
I've always assumed that he's done a lot of wacky things - may it be a sexual kink that this person can't perform and he's way past the shock factor. Perhaps refers to mind games that girls tend to use, that are completely ineffective against the guy - he's way too mentally chaotic for that to affect what's already going on in there.

The line: "Be nice to me" is a little odd, but gives him complexity as a person. He's fucked up, he's crazy, but he still wants her to pity him? Take that into consideration? Furthermore is the line "Don't ever be" (which I assume ends the sentence) is him and his borderline psychotic nature - don't ever be nice to me, for what I do (ie. "you fucking bitch", mistreatment to her)

The line(s): "I'm amazed / I'm afraid"
More borderline psychotic-ness. I'm amazed at myself. I'm afraid of myself. I assume that he talks about himself, rather being amazed at her (also assuming her, at the use of the word "bitch" but objective with this guy) because he's pretty egotistic.

The line: "I'm too cool for the second grade"
Part of me thinks it's just a fun line he wanted to use, but symbolically, it's being prideful for his lower state (You're still in the second grade?) Also could be "This is all too second rate for me"

As I'm working this out in my head while typing this long-ass interpretation, I reflect to the music video a final time. The party being broken up - it clicks. It's falling apart.

He's insane, he's on it, and he's breaking apart.
What do you think?

Pop is short for popular music - it came to mean a half-ass genre of wanna-be's and other bad music. Let's assume the classifier simply meant "popular", the original meaning.

Mindless Self Indulgence – On It Lyrics 16 years ago
Reading the above comments, it's starting to come together. It seems like a little bit of everyone is right. He's high, spontaneous, and completely out of it by being "on it" - which seems pretty logical by the pace and the mere presence of the cocky and bold "watch me bleed", "rest in peace", but then "hide"

As for whoever he's doing, they're just not important to him. I don't even think it's a competition. He seems to say "I'm the one that's famous / "the one with the face in the magazine"

Then regret: "I'm going to be the one I have to face"

As for the lashing out in violence, it's just general anger he wants to re-direct at SOMEONE, ANYONE...

Pretty interesting... What do you think?
