Whether this song is about a significant other, or something involving her band, I think it's about the end of a relationship. When the sun is behind a cloud, the cloud has a silver lining. When the sun is setting, the lining of a cloud turns an orange-ish gold. I think the lyrics are speaking of the sun setting on something that was once promising and beautiful, specifically on a love the narrator willed to die. |
