does anyone else thing the reference to the TRAIL OF TEARS is obvious and can't believe no one else understands that this is about the British>American destruction of the Indians? Not to mention the line "I know you'll be drinking alone." Hello? Does anyone go to school or watch Family Guy anymore? |

Thank you for the actual lyrics, and I agree with parts of your assessment, but without even knowing that the lyrics were from Watership Down (a fav of mine btw), I had a definite sense that this song was undeniably about the Native Americans and the American/British white guilt about what happened. It's just too clear. |

this song is a great hidden gem. on first listen it is short and straight-foward, but it is extremely catchy and features some of the best enhanced vocals you will find on this album.
i think it's about men or women who are vain and narcissistic getting the tables turned on them by someone when they actually allow themselves to fall in love. eventually, after a life of treating others like they are nothing but amusements for them, karma eventually comes back to haunt them. when this happens, the normally insincere and game-playing hunter, becomes, for a moment, the hunted. |
