I felt the same way, until I realized that the last stanza actually says "night is an adder" (viper). I think in this song KT moves between being the voice of the evil adder and being an observer. So, I think when she says "I need a mirror in the eyes of a man" she means mankind. I think she is being the seductive voice of evil and saying that she needs man to carry out her plan because she can't do it alone. I agree, KT is way too strong to say she needs a man : ) |
