"follow me across the sea where milky babies seem to be, molded flowing revelry with the one that set them free." I have trouble getting that line. Milky meaning maybe unclear or clouded. Molded flowing revelry, maybe long overdue feelings of happyness. i'm not sure |

The Doors – The Wasp (Texas Radio and the Big Beat) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"Out here in the perimeter, there are no stars. Out here we is stoned, immaculate." I love this line here. this more than likely implies that living without the accomadations of society; cities, life is more enjoyable. It is more lucid. Seldom do people consider how little self-reliance they exzibit. Referring to natives, (Negroes in the forest)this one line can be interpeted in many ways. |

The Doors – Ghost Song Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"A vast radiant beach and a cool jeweled moon. Couples naked race down by its quiet side." Sounds to me like LA beach, where he spent most of his college years. may reflect on that. |
The Doors – Dawn's Highway Lyrics | 14 years ago |
In a couple of his songs, (Peace Frog, Ghost song) he mentions this quote, "Indians scattered on dawns highway bleeding, Ghosts crowd the young child's fragile, eggshell mind." |
The Doors – Strange Days Lyrics | 14 years ago |
its pretty true, when someone cant put enough brain power into thinking up a legitimate response to the lyrics of a song, they say stupid shit like, "Drugs man, drugs" or make a generalization that whenever a song writer has lyrics that they themselves cant understand, its about something drug related. |

you sure put a lot of thought into one paragraph of a song you evidently dislike. |
The Doors – The Crystal Ship Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I dont know if im the only person who feels this, but everytime i hear this song, especially where he sings, "oh tell me where your freedom lies, the streets are fields that never die" I get this feeling of euphoria and i listen really deep and hear the organ and piano. its beautiful. its hard for me to analize what he means in these lyrics though. at the same time, i dont care because the melody of this song never gets old, and makes me think about so much stuff all at once |
The Doors – Light My Fire Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"The time to hesitate is through No time to wallow in the mire Try now we can only lose And our love become a funeral pyre" I agree with paraless. these lines may mean that love might not last forever. and the first 2 lines basically mean make good use of your time together, live your life together adventurously and be impulsive. the last two lines, eventually, love will die out, like a funeral pyre. great simillie. |
The Doors – Riders On The Storm Lyrics | 14 years ago |
who ever whote the lyrics for this song suckssss. its not "sweet memory will die", it is "sweet family will die". |
The Doors – Waiting For The Sun Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Responding to I think the quote, "This is the strangest life I've ever known." means you can perceive life in so many ways. I don't really know how he meant it though. This is why its such a well known and mysterious quote. It can be contemplated in so many different ways, because there are so many ways to understand life. and one of the worlds most common ways is religion. People are fine with believing that that's what existence all boils down to, a higher power. And that's why people are so faithful to religion. They seek guidance and are certain in their minds that by following a Creed of some kind, they will eventually find it. I choose not to believe in religion, because I enjoy thinking about the mystery of my existence, I am not ready and probably will never want to think of life in one way. Some people assume that when he said this, he was talking about experimentation with drugs, mainly Hallucinogens. Some think he meant that by tripping, or doing drugs, you can alter your state of mind, and temporarily exist in another life. It seems to be a popular way of thinking, or maybe an alternative to believing in a religion. I, however, think Morrison was not thinking about one way of analyzing life. He was thinking way far out, over the whole spectrum of contemplating life. This quote makes you think, that's what is so unique about it. it's only a few words, but one could elaborate on it forever. |
The Doors – Peace Frog Lyrics | 14 years ago |
For those who want to know about a portion of this song, one line is about him getting arrested in new york live in concert.Check it out, "Blood on the streets in the town of New Haven." Jim was 24 years old, and performing at a a concert hall in New Haven, New York. He met a girl a couple hours before and they began talking. Soon after, they went to a private area to 'talk' (Make out) in a shower stall, near a dressing room. a police man had seen them and ordered them to clear out. At this point, the officer didn't even recognize Jim. Jim replied harshly, "Eat it!"and the officer warned him again, but Jim refused, for which reason i don't know. maybe it was the principle of taking orders from someone else he didn't like. Anyway, the officer eventually sprayed Jim with pepper spray. And Jim keeled over in pain, screaming. this noise probably attracted people. Luckily, Jim's manager (Bill Siddons) came in and begged the officer to let him play the show. the officer reluctantly accepted and let Jim preform. Morrison, on stage, near the end of the concert began telling the story of how the officer maced him, but told it in a rude and demoralizing tone. The officers, angry, and probably embarrassed, arrested him on stage and took him out side to put him in the cop car. But before they did, they threw him to the ground and kicked and punched him. This is where the line "Blood on the streets in the town of New Haven." comes from. He summarized that night with that quote. The stupid thing is that there were so many witnesses who saw Jim getting beaten, and arrested. The media tried to play it off like Jim was resisting arrest and insulting a cop, even though he was. they basically arrested him for embarrassing them, which is totally legal, by the way. If Jim had threatened or verbally attacked the cop, this whole thing would make sense. Considering that it was Jim's dressing room. the cop had made a mistake, not Jim. therefore, Morrison did nothing wrong. I dont know how cops can get away with this stuff, but it happens. Just a big misunderstanding that eventually led to the cop physically abusing Jim Morrison. Møcky |
