| Ned's Atomic Dustbin – Grey Cell Green Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I still love this song, and I'm grown up (kind of) | |
| Ned's Atomic Dustbin – Grey Cell Green Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I think the last line is "Grey cell's green or you've got green cell's grey" as in 'if you don't use your grey matter to think about green matters, your greenery is going to turn grey' I always thought of this song as one of those perfect pop songs, great tune, great lyrics and what the hell does it mean? Is it about the environment, lust, desire, what? (obviously desire, and he found it, it was inside him all along. In case you missed that part) |

Sorry Tas Jedi, I just listerned to both Princes and Seven Seas and they don't seem that similar to me. Anyway, I remember getting A Kind of Magic when it was first released in 86. It's probably my most played Queen album, I had a coloured double vinyl of Live Killers, that got a lot of play too. |

| oops, maybe i should have read the 2nd and 3rd page of comments before i repeated what has already been said. Gabba Gabba! | |
| Ramones – The KKK Took My Baby Away Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
i thought every half-decent Ramones fan knew the story behind this song, "ZZZZZ" was the onlyone who seemd to know the story, Joey wrote it about Johnny stealing his girlfriend Linda, who Johnny later married. Johnny was a NRA card-holder (NRA was founded just after KKK was made illegal) Joey and Johnny did not realy talk to each other for the rest of their lives but somehow managed to keep touring together for another 15 or so years. Also Joey was a Democrate supporter and Johnny a Republican. |

| Frank Black – Los Angeles Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
good find 'manteray', i didn't think the lyric was "They got ones down in factory five, Works just like a beehive." its "well they've got one in twenty-five two five, where it's just like like a beehive" and yes 'Fairlight' is one word, 'Fairlight CMI' was the first digital audio sampler, made by 'Fairlight' in Sydney in 1979. |

The sun of morning shines well in my room Curtains dance for my pleasure I have need of a television not [sic] not Many bonbons of sugar possession A pot of tea, joy eh! Give me that What I want It is everything that I know And for it want Give me that What I want It is everything that I know Come to the holiday of tea It is very stimulating to play I have icing on right I laugh in the cogitation of me Give me that What I want It is everything that I know And for it want Give me that What I want It is everything that I know Give me that What I want It is everything that I know And for it want Give me that What I want It is everything that I know (Give me what I want) (It is everything that I know) |

| Frank Black – Threshold Apprehension Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The album ‘Blue Finger’ is about the life and works of Dutch musician, painter and media personality Herman Bood (pronounced ‘Hairmon Broat’),I think the album cover is one of his paintings. who due to depression over his drug use and his break-up with his wife committed suicide at the age of 54, on 11 July 2001, by jumping from the roof of the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel. So yes, this song is about suicide, drug use and depression. @ ritecoastsurfer, "185 on the new ring road" is the speed he's going on the ring road, probable in the Netherlands. What made you think 'Moscow'? |

| Frank Black – (Do What You Want) Gyaneshwar Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I came here to find out what this song was about but no one had commented… so I found out elsewhere… here goes Swami Sadanand Sant Gyaneshwar was a Hindu religious leader who, on Feb 11 2006, while returning to his ashram in Varanasi, was gunned down and killed along with seven of his followers in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India by unknown gunmen using AK-47s http://www.expressindia.com/news/fullstory.php?newsid=62698 I don’t know what the “You took down three” line refers to as none of the gunmen seem to have been killed of caught. "Your going to the next one" probably refers to the next life, same with "movin' on". This song reminds me of ‘The Last Stand Of Shazeb Andleeb’ from ‘Cult Of Ray’, which is a true story about a kid who died after being beaten by other students at Narbonne High School, Harbour City, California, That's what i like about Frank, he writes great music with interesting lyrics about intersting people and events. I can't wait to see The Pixies next may in Sydney. :D |
