Yeah that's wrong, its part of a concept album about a man and a woman with similar scarred pasts that meet by chance...nothing political in this one.
Not a bad interpretation otherwise though. |

Quite an obvious reference to Frank Miller's 300 comics, what with the phalanx, arrows blocking out the sun, and even the song title, taken straight from the comic. |

Well, this is quite obviously about King Arthur, the son of Uther Pendragon. Not much to be said, the lyrics pretty much speak for themselves. |

haha good point. I guarantee he wasn't writing songs about NGE, but I like the connections. Ultimately though there are at least as many contradictions. |

Sadly there is no deep interpretations here. Hansi has said the song is an original concept of his that was based off a story he wrote having to do with a rabbit that becomes friends with a crow. Now there isn't much detail as to what the story pertains, but there are probably plenty of allegories. So actually the song is about intolerance, just not as specific as it seems, and it has nothing to do directly with Nazi Germany as I once thought. |

Arolas has the correct interpretation. There isn't enough to support The NeverEnding Story, but this along with And the Story Ends are likely inspired to some degree by that book. |

It continues the story of Bright Eyes. The child is pulled through a mirror (see the album art) and is confronted by some supernatural beings of good and evil. He has to make a decision on which path to take, knowing either way will lead him to a grand adventure he's been dreaming of. It ends rather ambiguously, not saying what the boy decides. I'm not too sure about the final line either. |

| Iced Earth – The Reckoning (Don't Tread On Me) Lyrics

I's about Wyatt Earp hunting down the Cowboys as revenge for his brother Morgan. Specifically it is inspired by the movie Tombstone. The lyrics "revenge is not justice/it's the reckoning" is a paraphrasing of what Doc Holiday says in reference to Wyatt's determination. "Make no mistake, it's not revenge he's after. It's a reckonin'." |
