Bright Eyes Lyrics
Fool just another
Fool just another
I've been waiting
For signs of god
Create
Enslaved
Behaved
Everything is out of control
Leave me alone
Isolation bears hope
There's something else waiting
A promised destiny
Freezing me
I feel restless and low
These days full of sadness
Had joyfully changed
Into fear
My freakshow will start tonight
Don't miss the right time
Bright eyes
Blinded by fear of life
No Merlin is by my side
Everything is out of control
Everything is out of control
In my future plans
Everything is out of control
No one's left to hurt
Everything is out of control
Sorrow's gone away
Broken memories
Walking upstairs
Step by step
I see the whole world burning
The poet dies in Neverland
How it burns
Hey, mother stubborn
I really hate you
If you say yes I will say no
Ashes to ashes
But dust won't be dust
If you go there
I will go back
Bright eyes
Blinded by fear of life
Betrayed by sunrise
Bright eyes
Blinded by fear of life
No Merlin is by my side
Hey, father stubborn
You're yin
And I'm yang
I feel alone
Who really cares
Born into ashes
To lose all the games
With a smiling face
Bright eyes
Blinded by fear of life
And dark dragons rise
Bright eyes
Blinded by fear of life
No Merlin is by my side
So I sit still in my room, today
Winter's here
In summer's season
Shall I say
I was wrong
If I'm right
Farewell to my last hope
Fool just another
For signs of god
Enslaved
Behaved
Everything is out of control
Isolation bears hope
There's something else waiting
A promised destiny
Freezing me
I feel restless and low
These days full of sadness
Had joyfully changed
Into fear
Don't miss the right time
Blinded by fear of life
No Merlin is by my side
Everything is out of control
In my future plans
Everything is out of control
No one's left to hurt
Everything is out of control

Mordred again. The lines "Everything is out of control" supports the idea that this song is about The Neverending Story, because the world Fantasia was being destroyed by the "nothing" caused by people in the real world abandoning their dreams.
I think the actual lyrics are portrayed much better in the rearranged acoustic version of the song. The lyrics, I believe, are actually part of the semi concept album that was Imaginations From The Other Side. It is like an opening to the main story of the song And The Story Ends. At first when I heard it live, Hansi says "This next song is about a boy.. abused by his mother & father, he sits alone in his room, but still he manages to keep up his bright eyes". I read later in an interview with Hansi that Bright Eyes & And The Story Ends are about a boy who sees another world through the mirror in his room. I don't remember the story completely accurately, so I'll save it to put up for And The Story Ends. Anyhow, the song is part of a story that Hansi created for the Imaginations album.
The videogame, I've only seen the film once. I didn't catch it well, but I thought it was Super Mario 2.
I have been told by quite a few people, that this song is about The Neverending Story. The chorus "Bright eyes" is refering to the wolf's eyes that were glowing when he is first introduced into the story. The section of the song "Hey mother stubborn, I really hate you" makes this theory very questionable though, since the boy's mother in The Neverending Story, is dead. If any other people have any other information that supports this interpretation, please say so.
I use to tie the whole album together to some kind of coherent story. So it is about a boy who's becoming an adult. Society expects him to grow up and leave all the fairytales behind, but he doesn't want to leave these worlds he used to dream of. So he jumps into that mirror on the front cover and gets into that world he made up in his mind (Imaginations From the Other Side). He then travels through that world and for once he feels fully "alive" (I'm Alive). And on his journey he meets a bard who has known Arthur (Past and Future Secret) and other guys that only exist because he has read some odd books. So there are also the "bad ones" - like Mordred (Mordred's Song), with whom the boy can identify, because he, too, hates his father (you can read that out of the lyrics of Bright Eyes). And the boy loses his connection to the real world. But in the end (As the Story Ends) he decides that he has to let go of his dreams because the real world awaits.
Song is very sensitive and i think that i can't understand it so well as people who experienced things such as misunderstanding by their parents or a lot worse things than that. Anyway, the person in the song seems so lost in present, coz the past was so painful for him/her, and a future brings nothing but fear. And the final part of the song is very crushing, and i hope that the people who have found themselves in the song, will not end like this person here.
the neverending story? woah never saw it that way
Does anyone know the video game the kid is playing in the video to this song?
I was listening to the song reading the book "The Silence In Heaven" By Peter Lord-Wolff and it has some similaritis to the book. Like Tashum(the main character) his eyes are f-ed up so they glow yellow, and he cant go out in the light without getting burnt. There's other stuff but im too lazy to write it down
