For all you jackasses who hate KISS, you can KISS MY ASS! If you can't at least respect KISS you don't know jackshit about music. I can't make you like them, but you can't disrespect their impact on Hard Rock music.
Oh and for you people who say this song just isn't KISS, look at "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" by Poison...it wasn't what Poison was all about but it went #1 and don't lie you love that song. Just cuz the song is a ballad doesn't mean it's a song for pussies and panzees, you wanna be bad-asses need to get that through your thick skulls. MadBohemian, I'm pretty sure Freddie was bisexual at least, he did date guys.
Anyways, I think this song is about his homosexuality, and seems to have a lot of genius-like written lyrics that could be related to AIDS.
I think the "Mama" could actually be his mother. Often times when someone admits their homosexuality the parents can break down, so the lyric "didn't mean to make you cry" could be relating specifically to his mother. Although later in the song the "Mama" appears to be Mary Allen "let me go".
The part of the song "I pulled my trigger now he's dead" gives me the impression that he gave AIDS to someone else and now they died. "Life had just begun, now I've gone and thrown it all away" I think means he's still so young, but he's starting to die. "Body's aching all the time" could be a reference to his body weakening, which could be a result of AIDS.
"Spare his life from the monstrocity" could mean to spare his life from AIDS. When he talks about putting a devil aside for him could mean that most Christian religions believe that homosexuality is an unforgivable sin and that God is going to banish him to hell. "So you think you can love me and leave me to die" could be about a gay relationship he had when he acquired AIDS.
Overall, I really ain't sure what the songs truly about. But I think it has a deep meaning, because a band could be talking in the studio and Freddie could've told them not to ever tell the meaning of the song and they wouldn't. This song just relates way too well to his life at the time not to have a deeper meaning.

This songs is a fantastic job by Def. Joe Elliot has one of, if not the best voice in rock history.
I'm pretty sure the songs about a girl driving a guy mad cause he wants to be with her so bad. That's my take, but the first time I heard it I had no idea, it just sounded awesome.
