yeah I have to agree with amandamelody. very similar. I love The Maine, but this album doesn't completely wow me on first listen. A little too much of the same old, and the new stuff isn't necessarily improvements. and as for the meaning of the song...none of them are too complex, are they? growing up, finding yourself, young love, blah blah blah. all this talk of growing up makes me wonder why I'm not hearing it more in the songs... its all just reading a little CLICHE. oh well. I probably just need to give it some time. |

I think the verse with the sheep is about his band now and how he feels it's not as solid as he'd like. But I'm only guessing. It just sounds like it because there's three of them, and he "takes their tales" and is ready to write the lyrics and sing. And Jack maybe isn't able to fully commit because of Steel Train and such, so he has to take other calls, other roles. just a thought. |

I think this was on B-sides with slightly different lyrics. I love the "well they say all bad things come in threes" bridge. And the nod to Dear Nate. ("not an answer to post, no one cares about his voice") haha I miss dear nate. |

dissatisfaction. that's what this one is all about. He's not happy with his current relationship, or his legacy of music. (pent up commands, kid voice) He wants to say "screw it" and run away from caring, but he still feels tied to the world and worries about what other people will think. I love the end. I love the whole song, actually. I LOVE THE FORMAT. RIP. my favorite band forever. |
