I think you guys are just too stuck on the perception that a Christian musician can't say the word Bitch and get away with it *gasp*! I could care less if they decided to go with the title of being a Christian band or not since that seems to be social suicide today anyway, but they no longer consider themselves a christian band after Craig left. But for those still freaking out, If you watch the video the targeted anger is definitely reasonable. Once again they throw down against abuse and such. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gkt9baowg9Y&feature=fvst |

| Bullet for My Valentine – The Last Fight Lyrics

Straight out of a UG interview:
And "The Last Fight" is about drug addiction?:
MATT: "The Last Fight" is a song about drug addiction, but comes from the point of view of the person who's trying to help this person, and they just keep getting their help thrown back in their face. The song "The Last Fight" is a bold way of saying "This is the last time I'm going to help you. If you throw it back in my face one more time, you can just fucking do what you wanna do". It doesn't come from the view of the addict, but from the view of the person who's trying to help, yet keeps getting it thrown back in their face. |

Alright here is my interpretation based off of the Music Video. There is a little child in it that curiously wanders off. I believe the child perfectly displays the first meaning. Its showing a girl who runs in to trouble, but still possesses a child-like innocence inside her that eventually leads her out of her struggles. Basically saying that yes, she may have messed up, but she still has her innocence within her if she would just follow it. The second half would be the guys perspective "love song" type approach. He's calling her to find her own way through the pressures and struggles, follow her innocence at the core of her heart, and find him. Beautiful song. |

I'm hearing "Your Dead" at the beginning but either make perfect sense with the rest. Then "my sadness shows as your name is carved in stone." Loving their new album. Song is pretty straightforward, love song to someone who died, he's calling out for her to save him since she left so soon. Beautiful :) |

Pretty great song, can't wait to hear the rest of their album. I think this song is pretty straightforward, he keeps placing so much of his world on this girl (angel) that is flawed and keeps letting him down (with broken wings). She expects so much from him, and despite his better reasoning, he keeps giving in. The cycle restarts. |

Haha It sort of makes me laugh when people try to say these songs are directly about final fantasy, like thats cool right? these guys are way too poetic for low end that, they obviously use the inspiration from the game towards writing lyrics for a bigger purpose... not for writing lyrics about the game haha. but anyway I love this song. To me it struck me as a guy lost a girl but its bigger than that. He talks about the worlds struggles and cries out to her saying they will only fail going through the fight alone. "Reciting words we lost these years will never be untold, I won't be alone" Saying that things said between them, words they meant, can be lost but never unsaid or taken back. He will not be alone even if she falls in her own lonely path and gives up. He at least, will still fight. So idk on that but this is my interpretation. probably could go different ways :) |

I'm trying to figure the climax out myself, and I guess only Alesana really knows what they meant with the ending but I really love your idea about the sketches and how all the murders and such were just a part of his fantasy. Then her finally ending him for his fantasies of killing her and everything. Idk but this makes the most sense and makes out the best story line in my opinion personally. Could be lots of things though. LOVE this freaking album |

Okay so I think a few people have been at least close to the meaning. I don't know if I buy into the fact that she is a prostitute though. Take the name, belle of the boulevard. and the fact that in the chorus he says "THE Belle" not just "Belle of the boulevard" Her name has significance and displays an innocence. Perhaps a Beauty and the Beast type of reference? That would make sense to me in that she keeps looking for true love but is consistently let down by guys who take advantage of her. The song is from a perspective of someone who cares for her and wants to show her that he can be the one she's looking for if she notices him. (as shown as the lyrics chance from "dry your eyes" to "let Me dry your eyes" and difficulty for them is expressed in " WE fall apart" near the end and hints at no resolve as it ends with "life is always hard for the Belle of the boulevard." So yeah in short, she is looking for love in the wrong places and keeps getting hurt and heartbroken while this guy is wanting her to realize he wants to take the hurt away and do things right for her. At least that's my interpretation. Great song |

Okay I'm gonna give a shot based on my personal interpretation (and ChaCha said this song was meant to be a triumphant sort of song lol)
I think its about a guy who has seen previous pain in the girls life, telling her things could be better if she just believes (particularly in them assuming they're in a relationship) and
"I'd like to say, that you're my only fear
And when I dream, it slowly disappears
And when I wake, I'm right here by your side"
This is saying that his biggest fear is losing her and having her return back to pain and that in his dreams, it all turns out okay. He longs for this. but he finally awakes (the triumphant part of the song) to see that she's right beside him and he's won her heart.
so idk how off I am but this is how I see the song. Love this song :) |
