To me it sounds like its a song from the point of view of someone who has tried to do the things the way that they have been told to (either by parents or parent figures, or by bosses, or even by societal standards) and finally they are just like "Screw it! I'm throwing these 'weights down so i can move forward!' |

| I think this song is about the guy talking about how he can tell that the relationship is gonna get hard, either because that is how it has been in the past (like it gets difficult during winter), or because he can tell from the signs that she is giving to him. He is saying that he could just ignore the stuff and let whatever happens happen, but that he is instead choosing to "roll up his sleeves" to make the relationship work | |

| I'd agree with this meaning. I believe the song is him saying he will do anything for the girl. He will even take the fall for her. The voices and monsters are like the thoughts that are constantly racing through his head. It could even be thought of as like the angel/demon conscience thing that sit on your shoulders. | |

I particularly like the line about "You strike the match Why not be utterly changed to fire? And sacrifice the shadow in the mist Of a brief life you never much liked sun" I think the word son needs to be sun but my interpretation of the line (and the summation of the song) is that the person this song is directed toward is someone who has wanted to start something for God but always feels like they can't for one reason or another. The speaker is saying "why not just start a change, be the change that consumes everything?! Leave behind all insecurities because God wants you to be the fire of change for him" Thats what i feel the song is saying |

| The first verse seems to be a description on how we are raised all intently by our families or used merely for their entertainment but either way, once we are old enough, we are just turned into another faceless individual in the business of life, so we do random, and even stupid stuff to cope with it. It goes on to say We start doing things (again often stupid or dangerous things) to spice up our lives. We also sometimes turn to people or religion which is the better alternative, but even with those we start to do things so that we can define ourselves. THe final verse is saying that there are few that make it through to the end but by that point their wisdom is wasted on the youth.... This is my take | |

| To me this song seems like a relationship that has gone sour but the guy is trying to restore it. He wants to reflect on why they like each other and why they got together. It would have worked better if they had just let the relationship gone where-ever it would. They tried to hard but it just ended up blowing up... my oppinion | |
