| J.J. Cale – Thirteen Days Lyrics | 16 years ago |

| Alabama – Song Of The South Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I like the analysis freedom lover. but pinback .. you are missing a lot of the entire picture. You say that people have been exposed to a misrepresentation of the South, but southern pride is a lot deeper than that. There are other things unique to the south besides slavery, talked about by this song. The war was not fought over only slavery, but states rights. Blacks and whites fought for the south in search of freedom and to preserve their culture. Also unique to the South was an agrarian lifestyle. Conditions in the North were not much better than the South. Does that make it right? No, but if we are going to talk about slavery in the south, its only fair to discuss the terrible industrial working conditions and use of child labor in the North. |

| Tom Jones – Thunderball Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| They were originally going to use a song called "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" .. sung by either Dionne Warwick or Shirley Bassey .. but the producers insisted that it had to have the title of the movie in the theme song. Too bad those days are long gone .. | |
| Steely Dan – Night By Night Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This might be kind of out there but i see it as a song about someone with a gambling problem. I always thought he was saying "queen of spades" in the first line (when listening too it) .. "its a beggars life" someone who is bleeding chips and is begging for some good cards .. or for some luck .. or more money to gamble with. The second section he is in debt that he can't pay back and he is getting harassed by people from a casino (Vegas used to be more violent from what I've heard) |
|
| Tom Petty – A Self-Made Man Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This is a really good song .. i get a little confused by the lyrics Now some folks say there's a dangerous side Some folks says he's got dangerous side .. So help me baby, look what love can do It scares me baby, does it scare you too? Maybe about an abusive husband..lover? I'm not sure |

| Tom Jones – What's New Pussycat? Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
It's the theme song for the sixties movie (What's new pussycat) Tom didn't write it (Burt Bacharach did), but he did a great job singin it. |
|
| Tom Jones – Burning Down The House (with The Cardigans) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I personally like his version better than the Talking Heads .. they are both great though | |
| Shirley Bassey – Goldfinger Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Great song .. one of the best Bond movies | |
| Shirley Bassey – Diamonds Are Forever Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
On one of my James Bond special features it has an interview with I think John Barry and he said he told Shirley to sing the song like it was about a penis .. instead of diamonds. You can kind of see the connection in the lyrics: "They are all I need to please me, They can stimulate and tease me," "Hold one up and then caress it, Touch it, stroke it and undress it, I can see every part," .. and yes, Shirley didn't write it, it was made for the movie (along with Goldfinger, John Barry was the best Bond composer) |
