You're exactly right. I read in, like, Hit Parader or something that 10's refers to the dose count on a syringe. Did he confirm heroin? No, but I think we can all agree it is!! |

??? This is another case of Devo's awesome weirdness! Half the time, they might not actually mean anything at all. Then again, Devo has written some profound stuff...although alot of it has to do with sex, which, this one could damn well have some wacky connection to. ??? |

This is either Devo just being goofy and singing about a guy who's just so genius his brain is exploding!
It also seems as if it could reference someone getting high or tripping for the first time, if you've ever had that experience, you might know what I mean. I'm sure that is very slim to what they meant, but it still works in that respect. |

Yeah, that's about right. I thought of it as describing the 'perfect' working employee...a very boring, 100% precise life. It seems similar to Mechanical Man. Goddamn it this song is awesome. |

I don't think it is about a robot at all...I think the idea is that people are becoming 'robotic' or 'mechanical' within our society. Go to work, work hard, rest. Go to work, work hard, rest. Go to work, etc. I am a mechanical man, just like everybody else, working in my mechanical system, just like everyone else. I wan what you want, I want the same thing everyone else does. I want what YOU GOT - keep up with the jones'- consume, and you'll be 'happy'.
That's what I got out of it anyway, and it makes sense if you study Devo's original lyrics/message. |

It is a re-make of Black Sabbath's Iron Man with the lyrics matched and re-written about David Berkowitz, the 'Son of Sam' killer in the late seventies. Chilling if you really listen to it. |
