Never leaves a gap unfilled
Always pays on time
Always fits the bill
He comes well prepared
Cube top, squared-off
Eight corners, 90 degree angles
Flat top, stares straight ahead
Stock parts, blockhead
Never tips over
Stands up on his own
He is a blockhead
Thinking man full grown
He comes well prepared
Cube top, squared-off
Eight corners, 90 degree angles
Flat top, stares straight ahead
Snake eyes, blockhead
Flat top, stares straight ahead
Stock parts, blockhead
Never tips over
Stands up on his own
He is a blockhead
Thinking man full grown
He comes well prepared

It's basically a description of someone ordinary, pays his bills on time, does everything right, and so is completely mechanical, boring, and mentally vacuous. A square and a blockhead.
Yeah, that's about right. I thought of it as describing the 'perfect' working employee...a very boring, 100% precise life. It seems similar to Mechanical Man. Goddamn it this song is awesome.
A blockhead is a moron. A boring , "never tips over" kinda person is one who has drunk the kool aid accepted the dull prime time life. Has his interests dictated to him/her by advertisers and pop culture icons and guru TV internet programming. That's it...perfectly programmed to not do anything but feed the monsters ie big Gov, Banks etc. Gives the 100% for twenty years and dies. Much like the Tubes' "...pretend we're in love and get married to her, have lots of children and grow fat and old, and die like a fish on the end of a pole.." Blockhead is everthing I cannot stand to be, I like to "Tip over" now and again.
It's a song about your common stock sheeple. Those who do what they r told and they don't think or question the system they r ruled under . They exist to get up everyday 4 work ,pay their bills ,and follows the law, lives with the mindset of keeping up with the Jones, one who dies with the most toys wins. A blockhead,a suburban robot,a drone, a square , a consumer. U know just your average everyday American Idiot.
"Thinking man full grown He comes well prepared"
Spuds are tired of being downtrodden and labeled.
Society has many labels for them, including "blockhead".
Listen to Mark's rage near the end of the song in the live versions.
