| Green Day – East Jesus Nowhere Lyrics | 15 years ago |

The song is about televangelists, so-called "Christians", and the like. The problem is, it's about the Christians that aren't really Christians. You never hear about the real Christians doing any of the crap that gets pinned on them, since they are not as outspoken or "preachy" about their beliefs, and are generally more lenient than the grandiose picture Billie Joe has painted of Christianity, or faith as a whole. There actually happens to be a song by As Cities Burn (a Christian band) that is about children being forced into religion instead of making the decision themselves when they grew older. Christians understand this problem as well. I made the decision myself, and honestly if I hadn't chosen myself I would probably have stopped believing in God years ago. That's not to say that Billie Joe's views are correct, considering he can be a bit antagonistic towards religion at times, but he's making decisions for himself. I would prefer it if he would stop preaching to his devoted listeners, knowing how sheep-like this generation has become, and inadvertently embodying the problem he is pointing out. It's funny when you think about it, actually. |

| Pretty sure it has something to do with materialistic people that have estranged themselves from simple things like family and friends for money and power, and how they are dead inside. | |

I've felt like this and I'm an insomniac. Hell, I feel like that now. I've never used any kind of drug in my whole life. Just sayin'. I'll explain a little, since all the druggies are too high to figure it out themselves... Your eyes get bloodshot when you are suffering from sleep deprivation, and you will usually have headaches that can make you feel like your head is going to explode. I've also found as an insomniac that it's hard to shut down your mind when you're trying to sleep, even like it's in "overdrive" some times. Fix the song up any way you want it, it's really not about drugs. But whatever helps you sleep at night. Drugs are still bad for you... |

| Relient K – I'm Taking You With Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I've always seen it as a song about God. Scripture(Luke 12:34 and Matthew 6:21) teaches that your heart is where your treasure is, and if your treasure is heaven, your heart is in heaven. It could be seen the same way with a girl, but then your heart isn't in heaven. That's how I've always seen it. Plus, to "drop it all and take your hand" could be seen as dropping everything(including a girlfriend) and taking God's hand. That's just my interpretation. I'm not saying the girl interpretation is wrong at all. This is just what the song means to me, especially since it seems to be linked to scripture. |

| Angels and Airwaves – Secret Crowds Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
It sounds almost like he's worshiping God. I could be wrong, and especially if you consider the things Tom has written in the past, but maybe he's changed. I heard that he was raised a Christian, but I don't know. But even if it's not, this song has a very positive message. To raise a new generation of people that spread love like violence, and I respect Tom for trying to make a difference. |

Yep. Billie Joe just wastes his talent writing anti-political songs. If he was *actually* against about alienating people through the media and making money off of bad politics, he wouldn't write music like this. What a hypocrite. He has so much talent and musical genius. Why does he write songs about things like this? It's the easy way, he could write music that was about something other than religion or politics. I guess he doesn't have anything in his life besides stuff he doesn't like. |

| Showbread – I Am a Machine Gun Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Josh's screams use to be a lot more grainy and gravelly. Now he's master the art and he can screech better than anyone I can recall. It's almost a shame Josh's amazing lyrics are hidden behind walls of spastic yelling... if the spastic yelling weren't so awesome, that is. | |
| Thousand Foot Krutch – Puppet Lyrics | 16 years ago |

It can be interpreted either way. But the way TFK wrote it, it's most certainly about God. 1. There's the Puppet master, which is obviously Satan. He's the very first manipulator, after all. It's about breaking away from the strings that he pulls on people, and then telling others to break their's and be free. It calls out the people that fake being free and tells them they are just puppets. 2. Exactly what Jakeob said. |

| Relient K – If You Believe Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| awesomerad, that podcast didn't prove anything to me, she just said Matt cheated on her without saying anything about evidence. not saying he didn't do it, but I'm kind of leaning towards that possibility. | |
| Relient K – If You Believe Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I agree, I've written songs for my future wife so I know what Matt it doing, and it seems outside of Matt's character to cheat on his fiancee. I can tell he's a good guy. | |
| Relient K – Candlelight Lyrics | 16 years ago |

emilypmcclure interpreted the song perfectly. But I just wanted to correct the lyrics. The first verse goes like "On second thought I guess I'll not" In the chorus, it's "And they begin to chew her entire attire until it frays" Third verse, 'Then flutters in the butterflies" and end of the fourth verse, it goes "Those heads around". I know I'm nitpicking. I'd also like to mention how much I love this song. It's very catchy and I can relate to it(and Matt), like every other song on the album |

| Actually, it really isn't. As the saying goes, "Gathered like a moth to a flame" or something like that. Guys apparently gather around this girl like moths to a flame. | |
