yet again. I think this is another song where you cannot simply look at the lyrics and feel the meaning explicitly making itself known. Like all abstract pieces of art, you have to take into account every color and stroke of the brush that makes a mark; all the strokes that contribute to the final piece we hear audibly. The lyrics are but a preclude to the meaning. i think the second verse is the singer responding to the actions of the person he refers to in the first one. "How do we stop this happening again? In the second verse he (singer) narrates the actions of the person succumbing to the inevitable: "The first cut sharp and stinging. How do we stop this happening? The Lines drawn and so it begins." "All the love in the world can you say that you never had. Can't justify and don't understand..." The song is about suicide and the innocent soul that insufficiently understands what their actions will mean to those who care... the after effects of such an act... |

I don't know who/what speaks more in this song: the singer, the drummer, bassist, or even guitarist! The entire ALBUM resonates with melodic passion. It's hard to tell where the real zeal bleeds from, but the lyrics are enough to feel the tension between the singer and his struggle with the love of his life. The ambient nature of the sound mixed with the words are/is enough to trap a listener into the "outside looking in" he's talking about... This is a band to look for in 2010. |

Best song on the album...hands down. lyrically: This circus is an ill-conceived interpretation of what we call truth. It's a representation of the world as a joke of the god(s). The mother of all needs is the answer to the question of all questions. (Faith)(?), might just fill this need. Bleeding through the snow represents the sins (or guilt [for the non-theist]), that seeps into us throughout time. Never sitting down is the conscience, feeling the repercussion of neglecting such an important fact. Below, people begging for (it) redemption, hide in the midst of mainstream society, behind the cover of ignorance. Conclusively, We can't help being born into negativity. The healing of redeeming moments only prepare us for the inevitably approaching moments of more sin.. |

This is probably my favorite off the album. The raw passion of the verse is undeniable...but moreso, the bridge and outro is an in your face assault on the existential question of all mankind. Metaphysics comes to mind when the singer objectively lays out the lines, "does anybody really see anything? Does anybody really see anything?" The empirical evidence layed out in the lyrics are given, but the metaphorical tones of the verses are still left to an inconclusive debate, as of yet. This song is about the singer, caught in the midst of an existential crisis, searching the farthest reaches of Earth for evidence of the existence of a truth that is yet to be proven, or even believed. This song is the fucking shit. It speaks to the heart of the skeptic like Nietzsche does to the nihilist. |
