wow this song is amazing. i feel special being the first commenter. i think its about a girl (could even be a guy) who wanted to love and did at first but every time she tried it messed up and she was broken. so now its like an easy game to her she knows how to fake love people because thats the only love she ever found. and she just lets the rest of the world fall for her fakness and be happy at her carnival (love affair)and they wouldnt realize that for her its just a game now. and i dont know how the black bird ties in but im thinking that it means as soon as she was broken the balck bird sang (and a black bird signifies or is a death omen) and she dies inside and thats how her carnival started |

i think that this is about someone who is asleep or dead inside and the sleepwalker is their body just walking around living while the real him is dead.he uses the numb feeling as protection from being hurt again. his life feels like hes in some hollywood movie but it all looks sad to him because he knows that its fake. and he doesnt feel love or doesnt know how to love and is asking cupid not to make him fall in love cuz he doesnt want to feel the pain when he actually wakes up. its like some mix up of wishing for a famous life and being numb and not wanting to wake up because then the reality will shatter everything. thats all i have for now |

| to whoever said her voice sounds scratchy, she purposly did that. in case you didnt get it the song is supposed to be sung in this partyish careless and im really high so i dont know what im singing style.(the im sorry im bad song for example, also sang in this type of style) it was intended to sound kinda messed up. i really hate when people are so naive to this kind of stuff. and besides that, do some research before you say anything about her voice. u cant say that she has a scratchy voice cuz you heard her sing this song like that. she sings other songs in a beautiful clear voice. making the scratchy high sounding voice prolly takes a lot more work than singing in her original voice. so please check your own voice and see how long your throat would last singing the way she does in this song,before you say anything about it. its harder than it looks. same as scremo music. i dont even like screamo that much, but you gotta understand, that its not just a bunch of screaming, its a ton of work. try screaming like that for a min straight and youll see what i mean.(even though scremo does freak me out a bit and doesnt even sound normal and human to me, i still undertsnd that its hard and its a specific style.)be more open minded!!!! | |

to me this is a christain song for sure. she quotes the bible and i love the line gotta stay awake gotta stay awake. its so powerful because i used to stay awake and try my hardest not to sleep so that i wont have to get nightmares and then wake up (the hardest part about falling asleep spiritually and physically and mentally is the waking up part)and this kinda opened my eyes to the fact that i shouldnt be putting so much effort into staying awake physically but spiritually instead. and i need to keep talking to god (praying)so that i can be strong and not fall asleep and dream nightmares. |
