From First to Last – Cashing Out Lyrics 15 years ago
Yeah, I agree. It is pretty straight forward. Starts off with feeling the emotion of the music and feeling the real emotions that start this scene, but it's too late to be apart of it as it is now filled with sellouts. Disney owning Punk? Christians running Hardcore? That's an oxymoron right there. I dunno if any of these artists meant to do it, but they're selling out their own scene. We have UnderOATH, Norma Jean, Oh, The Sleeper, Maylene, and Solid State Records, for example, acting as messengers to promote their religion. We also have Disney promoting their image through punk. I personally don't know any Disney bands cause I avoid that garbage but I'm taking a guess here and thinking that's what they are doing. Just a side note, even the people that work at the Vatican agree that the Bible is just stories and fairytales and will just let you believe in their BS because of how convinced religious people are... crazies. So we have bands promoting their crazy religious beliefs and companies using an image for dollars. And now the scene is flooded with people who join to sell out. At this rate, there is no hope because people forgot what this was about.

not sure who he is, isn't the person who he used to be, but at least knows what he's not. he's in a psychological void and can't seem to find the way out.

what's "Xan?" I'm guessing it's means "christian." I'm not down with the new age christian lingo. but you are seemingly right. from the depths of dreams was just about some fucked up shit happening in his life... parents splitting, friend dying, girlfriend leaving, etc. let it enfold you was the search for a faith after becoming so lost, presumably after the events in the EP. Buddy ran through a bunch of religions try to find something that would work and that's where he found the notion of "follow your bliss," which may very well be the salvation to all inner conflict that is beyond religion... the pursuit of the divine self.

and so still searching embarks on this journey to self discovery, self searching, trying to fill a void and be someone that i guess "fits" into society. maybe the guy in the song dies but for buddy, i think death in here is used to signify his failure in trying christianity. it wasn't for him, and it's not for everyone. that part of him died. and i don't feel sorry for him and no one should cause we are all individuals and there is not one thing that works for everyone, except for breathing air, eating and sleeping of course (you know, the basics). and i think it's a good thing he failed cause he brings himself closer to finding HIS TRUE bliss.

I can very much relate to him cause I was born catholic, went to school, church, baptised, and almost had my first communion but I ran away cause i didnt feel it was right. i'm glad i found senses fail cause i learned to believe in myself and find my bliss. this to me just shows that christianity isn't for everyone. it's not that great.
