| The last verse to me seems to describe the way he is so horny & with no outlet for it that he can't get his mind on any other topic. 'Wherever he tries to hide' i.e. mentally in his thoughts - his lustful yearnings will seek him out & get his mind back on emptying his sack. The wicked harmonica riff seems to convey his agitation & frustration at his curent plight. | |

This brilliant track makes me think of Greg Norman & Chris Evert i.e. two people a little past their prime & worn round the edges who get together later in life. the lyrics show a longing they convey that they had got together sooner - when they were younger and had less baggage - but I think the song still conveys the hope that you can find a certain magic with someone in later life. The bit that goes: And so they must depart, Two many more broken hearts. But I�ve seen that all before, In T.V, books, and film and more. And there�s a happy ending, Every single day. makes me think that they still have a fair bit of heartache & general angst to get through before they can find each other & have a last shot at happiness. Amy Mac is descibing their current situation as being a bit on the low but giving glimpses of a brighter future when they do get together. |

One of the greatest songs of the last 20 years, if not THE greatest. To me the line is 'will it hurt me baby, really cut me baby' which emphasises her wariness of falling (in love) heavily again after previous hurtful relationship. The use of 'will' shows things are at a very early stage with this new dude. The lines 'curiousness of your potential kiss' & 'You're the book that I have opened & now I've got to know much more' also convey a tentative hope that things have the potential to work out with this fledgling romance, although she is fully aware it could turn sour. The 'Like a soul without a mind In a body without a heart I'm missing every part' refrain again shows the hope and yearning she has for this to blossom into the real deal & replace the misery that went before. |
