Given that no one has posted the actual ones, here ya go Back in the cuts break-back cement 40 oz so minimal in our heads drown drone beggars where are you glory under the bitten sky we play back in the past we were born to suck so diligently be the concrete floor or this cougar-whore you can't trust the dust that's been given bring me close to love would you give me a reason to believe trapped by the world would you give me a reason to believe father said "you can find me on broadway" father told me "you can find me on broadway" so many ways to flip our heads up-side-down it's a fellow eclipse of a bit fist we cry wolf under the hemorrhaging crown back in the past we were born to suck so diligently our lips are not to be closed under the shade of all your sniveling taking in all the wind of your jump-cliff and whisper ever so... bring me close to love would you give me a reason to believe trapped by the world would you give me a reason to believe father said "you can find me on broadway" father told me "you can find me on broadway" oh I crave that over-the-hill we pave here I am will you shun me now no love loved you've claimed was just a whisper here I am no shun me father said "you can find me on broadway" father told me "you can find me on broadway |

| Sam Sparro – Black and Gold Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| The thing that I'm not sure of about this song is whether or not he is rejecting evolution as a whole, or if he is questioning the possibility the it's an act of his god. | |
| Frou Frou – The Dumbing Down of Love Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| What is that intoxicating instrument towards the end? Possibly a duduk? | |
| The Hoosiers – Cops & Robbers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Someone told me it was a jab at the American law enforcement system and about how they really have empty authority. "There's nothing we can do but play cops and robbers" is the line she got it from, I suppose. Anyone else think of Lord of the Flies when they hear "blame Simon"? |

| Silversun Pickups – Lazy Eye Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
The video denotes that this song is about finding the right person, or so you think. The person ends up being a prick and leaves you to go have scanty fun. Only in the video is there follow up where they actually do hook up. But the video and the song still share that idea of "but it's not quite right" |

| You are correct sir | |
| Pixies – Debaser Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Black Francis said in an interview that he watched Un Chien Andalou twice in college and thought "I will make a good song about this." It's literally a song emphasizing the demoralizing and de-structuring (debasing, per say) of movies, music, life in general. Francis and the rest of the gang are bloody geniuses. This is absolutely one of my favorite songs of all time. |

| Silversun Pickups – Creation Lake Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| To me it seems to be a song about the beginning, life, and end of an awesome relationship. Even when the 2 people are apart they're thinking about each other, even when it's days at a time (24 parts in a day that divide me from you) | |
| R.E.M. – Losing My Religion Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Michael Stipe has come out as "queer" so the homosexuality idea could be very correct. He had a relationship with a man for 6 years I believe it was, and he is very open about it. | |
| Mika – Touches You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| you do know that he is gay right? | |
| Digitalism – Pogo Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| God damn it! Not every fucking song is about drugs! GAH | |
| Depeche Mode – Dream On Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I'm a bit fed up with people claiming that every Depeche song is about drugs or HIV/AIDS This one is definitely about an outsider looking in on a situation and giving his cruel, but helpful two-cents. The lyrics "Hey you pale and sickly child You're death and living reconciled Been walking home a crooked mile" are not a literal pale and sickly person. And these: "Paying debt to karma You party for a living What you take won't kill you But careful what you're giving" have nothing to do with AIDS in reality, but I can see how one would think it so. |

| Dirty Vegas – I Should Know Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The song seems to me to be about a man [the singer] telling someone that the world isn't always such a nice place, for he has experienced it first hand. It's not a negative thing, he's just warning that running off from your world and what your world contains isn't the best idea. or I could be completely wrong :] |
|
| Descendents – 'Merican Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The way I see this one is that the singer is talking sort of doing a compare and contrast of America. He is all proud of it, but he is conscious of all the bad shit we've done as a country. The chorus is from the point of an American citizen that isn't willing to acknowledge all the bad shit, and is putting it off on the other person "You don't wanna listen You don't wanna understand" |

| Robbie Rivera – Back To Zero Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The song is about this woman losing her relationship, and her essentially being back to square-1 in her emotional life. | |
| Robbie Rivera – Float Away Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song is coming from a woman's point of view, wherein she wants to belong to the subject (the guy the song is about). It's simply a series of lines with talking about her want for him, accompanied with some beautiful music. |

| Daft Punk – Face to Face Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
its actually saying "You are. Face to face now. Face to face." and that alternates with "You are. Face to face now. With Me." |
