| Sigur Rós – Ísjaki Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
You knew me I knew you We knew this all would end You missed me (note: in the way you miss a bus) I missed you We lost our footing Now we lie along the river all ice-cold and blue trembling to our bones half-dead from the cold Isjaki (iceberg) Chorus: You never say anything You're an iceberg you're frosted over you're as quiet as the grave and you hide yourself behind an iceberg x2 I kindled a fire within me I kindled a fire within you now we light a fire, sulfur, flame it sparks within me it sparks within you our sparks burn us up to ash Ãsjaki iceberg You never say anything You're an iceberg you're frosted over you're as quiet as the grave and you hide yourself behind an iceberg x2 (plucked together from youtube comments translating the lyric video on the Sigur Rós channel) |

| Sigur Rós – Kveikur Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I get the feeling Jonsi sings "við biðdum", which means something like "we waited/we have waited/we've been waiting" every two lines or so in the first part. Can anyone confirm/correct this please? | |
| Of Monsters And Men – Little Talks Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Absolutely right! | |
| Sigur Rós – Syndir Guðs (Opinberun Frelsarans) (English) Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I think it's neither. It's just the point of view of Christ, an idea of how he could be feeling or what he could've been thinking when he hung on the cross. You could view it from a religious point, think about how Jesus actually might have been human. You can also view it as an Atheist who sees the bible like a storybook, and think of this as an extra chapter. That's what I do. ;) |

| Studio Killers – Ode to the Bouncer Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
The meaning of the song is quite clear: Let me in or I'll hurt you because I seriously need a good time inside. Other than that, I love the little Pink Floyd reference in the song: All in all you're just another prick at the door/ All in all you're just another brick in the wall. Also find it funny how prick resembles brick, and doors are in walls. Myeah. |

| Ha, that would be truly epic though! | |
| Sigur Rós – Gobbledigook Lyrics | 15 years ago |

wicked! thanks for the translation! As someone who's in love with the Icelandic language and yet has barely any means of learning it, I resort to Sigur Ros lyrics... It was nice to discover that this song actually fits to the video I made about my trip there :D This boy they sing about could well be the spirit of Iceland: playfull, free but sometimes a bit harsh... |

he may be taking the piss? Knowing Damon's lyrics, he absolutely is taking the piss out of it. |
|
| Blur – Got Yer! Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| The sound of a goose on the loose (aha aha) would not makes sense if these were the lyrics. Therefore, it's Damon - i think - grunting "Who let that bleedin' goose in 'ere?" | |
| Blur – Music Is My Radar Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
This song, for as far as I can tell, is about Music and it guiding you - or in this case, Damon - through the joys it can bring. It's also pretty well executed into the song itself, non-lyrically. The music is slow, suddenly seems to attack you, then ensnares you again. |

Was just watching "bananaz"...aren't the first lyrics "I need a gun to keep myself among the poor people that are burning in the sun"? Correct me if i'm wrong, please do. I'm just not sure whether Damon just wanted the kids choir to sing and made it up, or that it's genuine (which i'm counting on really)... |

| The Good, the Bad and the Queen – Herculean Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I think it's about how life over time (since the beginning of the 20th century really) has become so incredibly comfortable for us humans, that we seem to think it's always there for us. This song is more of how we keep living in that naivety, until the end where we just can't seem to realise that all has changed. What the writer of this song (probably Albarn) wants is to alert people for that moment through his song, and he'll keep singing it until we do. |
|
| Gorillaz – Stylo Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| definately overload. It'd make more sense lyric-wise (although people say that damon's lyrics often "dont" make sense, but I think that's untrue) Overload relates to the piling up of fakery in the world. | |
| Gorillaz – Stylo Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| You saying this does make sense - I didn't know about products named stylo, but I did get the feeling that it's all about the fakeness of things, people having relationships over the internet without ever having seen each other (electric love), etc. Well done! | |
| Blur – Girls and Boys Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Almost there with your translation...it actually is "You're very pretty" which makes more sense lyric-wise: you're very pretty, but we haven't been introduced. :) |

lol @ the whole "drugs" thing. one person says "hey, it's about drugs!" and people follow that like sheep because yeah, even the sesame street opening song can be about drugs considering things. Damon Albarn sure looks like someone who does drugs 24/7 doesn't he? He likes them so much he writes all his songs about it too! *sarcasm* As the title of the song implies, it's about the undead, vampires in particular. And 2D loves that, and since this band is mostly evolving around the characters, it only makes sense. More than the drugs theory anyway. |
|
| Gorillaz – 5/4 Lyrics | 15 years ago |

or maybe that she was some king of drug for him, until it all went bad but he still was "addicted" or something? Good theory though - like it loads better than all the "omgwtfbbq its deffinatley 'bout druugs11!111!one11!!" ;) |

| Muse – Soldier's Poem Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I love the way how Matt sings it in an almost soothing manner, while the lyrics are practically rocks thrown at someone. I'm guessing its a sort-of stab towards the people who send people off to wars, while they sit behind their desks, drink their expensive coffee and can distantly read the statistics of how many people of their army die. And then, of course, how they get caught by the protesting masses, and keep saying that they worked hard to keep the country safe. This coming from the pov of a soldier, of course. His frustration at the people claiming they play a big part in a war, while they're the ones trying not to get shot through the head. |

| Mika – Touches You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I don't think its a creepy song either. I'm guessing the song is about a man, trying to tell -in my mind- a woman that he wants to be there for her, not just as a lover but so much more than that. As in how actions can sometimes "touch" you (in the heart), he wants to be there for her. and, adding that missing part, it's probably his ex, and maybe this is how he tries to explain to her how he wants to be there for her when they try again...? a bit of a wild guess. Other than that, i love the song to bits. Nice and sensitive :) |

| Michael Jackson – Earth Song Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| the "ooh" and "aah" in the background is what gives this song such an impact - it's like the earth's crying! Sends shivers down my spine :) | |
