I get the feeling this song is about a girl who Jerry has feelings for, but knows she is unfaithful. And he knows in his mind that he shouldn't want her, but his heart still wants to chase her. "Faceless, blind" - Meaning he knows it isn't worth it. "Shes not just mine" - Meaning she has many other men, and she isnt faithful to anyone. Love the song. It has such a dark love story feel to it. |

If you look into the lyrics, I think this song might be a shot at religion. It talks about being "unholy" and "smashing temples". I think it may mean he feels as if he is the last one who will stand up to the religious bullies or the "liars". "Your broken saint, your ancient story" - May be reffering to the bible there. Hmm..thats just my thoughts. |

That's actually a pretty good theory. I just interpereted it as someone who has to make a decision to live or die (which I guess Layne did). Basically, we all know its about suicide. That is the "decision". |

I think this song is about 2 people who were once in a relationship, but are now afraid to speak to each other. Or afraid of what the other person thinks about them. " You tried to kill me off Surprised I remain A scale tips impossible Afraid of my own name " - Meaning the person is worried that the other person hates them for something they did in the past, and is afraid of even hearing his own name spoken. " And I always paid attention to all the lines you crossed Forgive this imperfection it shows and know I am the child that lives and cries in a corner Dies in a corner Alone inside your mind " - Meaning he knows that the other person wants him to suffer for what he did, and cry or "die in a corner" so to speak. And be alone forever. Also, he admits to being imperfect (which shows he hurt the other person in some way in the past) " Intend obsolescence built into the system " - Obviously means no matter how good he is to the other person he/she still wants nothing to do with him. Thats just my interperetation :) The album is GREAT by the way, and this is probably my favorite song. |
