| All Time Low – Heroes Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I agree with this, although I also think that the final chorus (where they point the finger on themselves) is more about them not taking themselves too seriously, which is a philosophy that All Time Low has claimed to live by many times. | |
| All Time Low – Get Down On Your Knees and Tell Me You Love Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It should say "so the *speaker here is calling...", not "spreader." Freaking iTouch. But yeah. Two-bit, not too-big. |
| All Time Low – Get Down On Your Knees and Tell Me You Love Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Um... I'm very certain that the lyrics are "Just a no-good, two-bit, filthy, rotten criminal." It's TWO-BIT, not "too-big." That doesn't even make sense. When someone is described as "two-bit," they're being called a whore. The term dates back to when bits were used as currency, and two-bits was very cheap (about 25¢), so the spreader here is calling this "filthy rotten criminal" a 25¢ whore, hence the "two-bit" line. It's definitely not "too-big." I don't think the person that the speaker is singing about is overweight, and I don't think her size is the problem that caused them to break up. Context clues would tell you that she's somewhat of a whore. |

| 30 Seconds to Mars – Hurricane Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| That doesn't make much sense. Besides, abortion is only wrong if you say it is. | |
| 30 Seconds to Mars – Hurricane Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Ok, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Kanye's version the ORIGINAL version, which couldn't be released due to complications with Kanye's record? So saying Kanye ruins the song is kind of silly when the version with Kanye is what the song was originally SUPPOSED to be. That said, I like the one with Kanye. Because I'm not a closed-minded little prick, and also because I'm a Kanye fan. |

| Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman – Come What May Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song... No, this musical film in general, it means so much to me. The first time I saw it I was at my friend's girlfriend's house. He and his girlfriend wanted to show me this movie, so the four of us watched it and it was absolutely brilliant. Elephant Love Medley and Your Song are great, but this one triumphs. This is so perfect, it encapsulates love so incredibly well. You never know what love feels like until you actually experience the emotion, and even though it's so wild, it's also the most natural feeling in the world. Love grows and makes life worthwhile. It's perfect. And so, every time I hear this song (specifically, the Original Film Version from the second soundtrack), I think fondly on the endless days that I spent with who was once my biggest love. Even now, after we've parted ways and memories of her seem bitter, angry, or void of emotion altogether, I can listen to this and almost re-create what it felt like to love someone so passionately. |

| High School Musical 2 – Gotta Go My Own Way Lyrics | 15 years ago |
HMS music is still music. There's nothing to interpret, really, but then again that's how it goes for musicals. I tend to find a lot of negatives with HMS, but I didn't come here to talk about what I dislike about it. Music is music. If you don't like it, don't post. Also, way to use "gay" as an insult and make yourself sound stupid. Oops, sorry--I bet you thought that made you "cool." |

| High School Musical 2 – Gotta Go My Own Way Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I honestly don't like High School Musical much (though I don't hate it, it's just... iffy to me), I thought this scene was very sad. After hearing the song again, I find it even more depressing, having been through a rougher break-up (when the movie premiered, I hadn't been in a real relationship). I feel like Zac and Vanessa could have shown more sadness, but at the same time, the acting in these movies in general is questionable. But anyway. It's a sad song, and it reaches it's peak sadness when the two start singing together. |

| Hit the Lights – Breathe In Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Hey. Condescending bitch. Stop it. |
| Hit the Lights – Breathe In Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is what I heard. "Nerves numb When conscience comes crashing I'll keep strong Take time to find yourself But 'til then, I'll be waiting on you to come around And you will" |
| Hit the Lights – Breathe In Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| And it sounds more like "A better life, a TRUER sense of 'you'" in the first verse. | |
| Hit the Lights – Breathe In Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| It sounds more like "Nerves numb" than "Once numb" at the beginning of the second verse... | |
| The Veils – Sun Gangs Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Part of me thinks it's about somebody passing away. The Sun is often associated with Heaven and God, so a "Sun Gang" could be people in heaven, or Heaven itself. The song starts with what sounds like a heartbeat which then fades. At the end, you hear similar sound like at the beginning, but without the heartbeat which could mean the heart has stopped beating and the person has passed away. "Some say you'll never be gone forever." Those who have died live on and "aren't gone" through pictures, objects, and memories. Some say there's music where you go." I suppose some say that there's beautiful music in heaven. "Where I am going, you can't save me" could reference death. Wherever they are headed after dying, nobody else can stop them from going. They're dying no matter what. |
| The Veils – Sun Gangs Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think it's: "Now I hear violins Out from the silence Don't want my love? Then let me go" This song is beautiful. |
| All Time Low – Lullabies Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Actually, I've never had an experience with death and listening to this song brought tears to my eyes. Sometimes an artist (a band) is able to translate enough emotion into a song to reach their fans. Lullabies is one of these songs--it's clear that Alex is emotional about the suicide just by listening to this and Therapy. That emotion can stir emotions of the listener. Also, don't go angsty teen on us and tell us we "won't understand". That's dumb. |
| All Time Low – Too Much Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Maybe this song is a parody of the crappiness of other songs. Maybe the dumb and annoying-sounding lyrics of the song was the point. | |
| All Time Low – Too Much Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Has anyone considered that this song could simply be a literal joke? Maybe making fun of R&B or some music ATL thinks is crappy? The song is called "Too Much" and that line is repeated WAY too many times. Alex Gaskarth can write so much better than this, so why would he allow a song like this to be put onto their record--which is aptly titled "Nothing Personal", so as to not personally offend the genre/type of music that Too Much resembles? I think it's totally possible that Too Much is written like a love story song of the R&B genre, but is making fun of that genre, or something along those lines. An R&B-styled song that is making fun of other types of music. |

| All Time Low – Painting Flowers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I agree with angiedangerous. Back in The Party Scene days, Alex was much younger. His voice has obviously matured since then--we just didn't hear it too much because of the Auto-Tune. This is his real voice, without Auto-Tune--but it's more mature than in The Party Scene which was recorded when they were... what? 16? 17? At the beginning, it doesn't sound a lot like him, but that's probably because in most of his songs, he's singing loudly... at the beginning of Painting Flowers, he's singing quieter than in songs like Break Your Little Heart. |

| All Time Low – The Girl's a Straight-Up Hustler Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| It's about a guy who is dating a girl who is completely into the stereotypical drama of a teenage party image. The girl is only interesting in partying and having fun with others, and doesn't really care about the guy. | |
| All Time Low – The Girl's a Straight-Up Hustler Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| No, because these guys don't sound like complete crap. | |
| Paramore – Decode Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Taking it from the non-Twilight-obsessed-freak point of view, this song really seems to be about a friendship or love that is lost. Similar to when you're good friends or lovers with somebody, then after a while, you stop at some point and think, "How did we get here?", because you realize that, despite what you thought the relationship was, it has changed and become a bad situation. I can compare this to a friendship of mine, and a dating relationship between that friend and his girl friend. During the summer, everything seemed to be fine--everybody was close and loved each other very much. Now, I feel disconnected from my friend, and my friend just became single. It's a situation like that--everything seems fine until you reach a point where you realize it's not. Yes, I realize that Hayley Williams already stated what the song is about, but I believe there are further meanings. |
| 3 Doors Down – Here Without You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song really hits home, as by best friend just broke up with his girlfriend... we were all really close. As Brad Arnold stated, it's about the loneliness that comes with losing a loved one, either through death or a break-up, or even a fight. This song is truly strong. |

| Panic! at the Disco – New Perspective Lyrics | 16 years ago |
You can tell, just by listening to New Perspective, that Ryan Ross was the one who made Pretty. Odd. so different from P!ATD's original sound. That's backed up when you listen to Ryan's and Jon's new band's ("The Young Veins") new single, "Changed". "Changed" sounds distinctly reminiscent of Pretty. Odd., while New Perspective reminds me of a sort of happier and brighter Fever. Therefore, I like New Perspective. I hated Pretty. Odd. I respect the fact that the band was taking a new direction, but I disliked the entire album. Ah well. In any case, it's obvious that Ryan and Brendan split because of their differences in tastes of music. All in all, I'm siding with Brendan on this one. New Perspective seems promising of P!ATD's "new" new direction. |
| Jason Mraz – Plane Goes Down Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think it's possible that he's slightly cursing his love... he seems to be singing this song as he leaves his love behind. Of course, that seems to be the meaning if you think he's in an actual plane. | |
| Utada Hikaru – Sanctuary ~Opening Version~ Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Do you have any idea how terrible the song would sound if they tried to keep it close to the original? It'd be filled with a bunch of meaningless words and would've been an autistic version of Passion. Besides, Sanctuary and Passion are both about the common theme of being about somebody else, specifically someone close to you. Passion is more about remembering a loved one from a long time ago, whereas Sanctuary is more about loving someone and feeling safe while you're with them. I agree, Passion's lyrics are more meaningful and thought-out (and therefore better), but you really have to give Sanctuary the benefit of the doubt here--it's a translation, and a fairly good one at that. |

| All Time Low – Hello, Brooklyn Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song isn't too great, in my opinion. I mean, the song is nice for pumping yourself for, say, a PARTY, but otherwise I wouldn't listen to it normally. The rest of the album (even the mostly-hated Too Much) is great, but this song is only moderately good, in my opinion. The lyrics like "Tonight's like a knife, will you cut me with your kiss?" are alright. The entire song is alright. Just a little generic-sounding. |
| All Time Low – Therapy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I feel like this is the best interpretation of it. Really, I feel like it could be both this and a reference to his brother, but I feel like this interpretation catches the true feel of the song. Easily the best song on the album. |
| All Time Low – Too Much Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Jesus people, stop freaking out about this song It's something new, and different ... Quite honestly, I believe this song is about taking love for granted, and then losing that love. They had "too much" love and "too much" time, so they figured that "tomorrow was promised" when it wasn't. It's like the philosophy that one should live like they're dying--they don't know what will happen tomorrow, so they should live life to the fullest. It seems like this song is about someone who had too much time, took it for granted, and now has regrets, possibly because his love is gone. Like another user said, it may have something to do with the need for personal space, but I personally believe that more of the lyrics point to a surreal, "How did I end up here" feeling, as if you'd lost your love and your life is in shambles. |
