| Well... I though the lyrics were "Mutual trust, love's gone behind", but looking at several lyrics sites, they all say "Mucho mistrust". Mucho... really? It's about a person (the singer) in a relationship (most generically speaking -- acquaintance, friendship) who has read too much in the actions of the other, thinking more is there -- feelings reciprocated. The other person has been kind, friendly, perhaps even a bit flirty. However, despite these actions, the other person doesn't have feelings for the singer. Well, the singer takes the next step in sharing their feelings and is rebuffed or rejected. The singer is dejected and perplexed, not understanding a "No" answer. moodylupin probably has it right. But allow me another interpretation: In AOB's meteoric rise, Jenny lost her foundation in God. She became so swept up ("I let the trees grow wild around me") that she lost sight of God ("Grew so high hid the sky - Shaded everything I needed to see "). However, she's settling down after this chaos and finding God again. |

| The words themselves leave for much interpretation as already stated here. However, given the video, my guess is that the song is about lost opportunities... regrets, perhaps. Based on the imagery, it seems she may have settle for her husband and often wonders what might have been with another man (the guy on the steps). | |
