Although it is in Jennifer's Body, it wasn't written specifically for it. Alex stated that he had already written it, and the band was going to put it on Nothing Personal, but they felt it didn't fit. Then when they heard about this movie, they thought it would fit well and it ended up on the soundtrack. |

This is such an amazing song, and, about the title...Locke says "I'm not a thief, I'm a treasure hunter." in Final Fantasy 6. So it has nothing to do with the song. I'm not going over the lyrics, because the fact that it's about sex has already been established. |

I agree with alot of people on here that the song is based on Greek mythology, but it reminds me of Hades stealing Persephone to be his wife and rule in the Underworld with him. I think all the lyrics fit, with the exception of the line, "I have found the way to trick the ferryman," because since Hades is king of the Underworld, he wouldn't need to trick Charon to send him across Styx. "My pale queen finally stands to taste lips now cursed with her love," makes me think of when Persephone unknowingly eats the fruit of the dead, forcing her to stay in the Underworld. |

I think it's about a guy who's in love with a girl, and she doesn't feel the same way. He loves everything about her because she's everything he isn't but wants to be. Then the "we lay, we lay together" part is about how he'll never be close enough to her. He hates that he's in love with her even though she doesn't love him. So he wants to break her down and hurt her badly, but can't because he loves her. And "I'm tripping over every word you say" means he's listening to everything she says and it's always on repeat in his mind. Every time he sees her, his hungry eyes are basically taken out because he can't stand the sight of her. He's never going to let her get away and settle for second-best, because he knows they're right together. Just my opinion. |
