| can i also point out that in Jimmy Eat Worlds song, he says " Just wait for the right time" in the Chorus. Travis in this one is singing " Just wait for the sunshine" and it's funny how both say it with the exact same tone. For the ones who don't know Jimmy Eat World, their song has been out since 2004. | |

| This is a really great song, but the melody everything is just like 23 by Jimmy Eat World. I swear, listen to both songs, they sound just the same, the verse and chorus the guitar melodies. I have the feeling they listened to that song, since these guys love jimmy eat world, and thought maybe take the melody :) lol. I don't know, anything is possible. | |

| I saw this interview just now, he was obviously not serious, and it did not seem to me he wanted to reveal what it's really about, it is possible that there was something. It would not make sense if he says it's about how people telling you need therapy when all you need is a hug (laughs in the interview), if you look at those lyrics. it would seem weird to me. The reason why i say it can't be that, because i read an article or interview where he was asked what lullabies is about, when all he said it's about a girl who left him without anything, whilst he said years ago on their first full length self titled, it was about his brother. It's likely to be about someone close to him, also if you look at the lyrics. You're lucky if your memory remains, sounds very likely about somebody who might be remembered for something. So i would think Alex just had to say something and sort of changed the meaning to it, when it really could be about something else. I just say that, because he gave a lame answer like that on lullabies in an interview i read. | |

| I think it's about his brother. He's reflecting back to what happened. The misery he's talking about is the suicide he committed. Also " Cause a scene like you're supposed to, They'll fall asleep without you, You're lucky if your memory remains". What hes trying to say is that the scene is the part where he took away his own life, whilst others just go to sleep and avoid him, and he could be one lucky person if people still remember him, as in if his memory still remains, which could be possible he had a lot of negative conflicts with others. This is kinda giving me the feeling they never got along well with each other, like any siblings. The therapy part means, he needs some sort of treatment to go through, because he couldn't take the fact his brother is gone, and still can't imagine it happened, and that it could have been all his fault due to bad imitation, where he says he's a walking travesty. " but i'm still smiling at everything ", he's trying to say, although his brother is gone, he's living his dream at the same time, being in a band, have great success and be happy that he made it in the music industry. I'm not trying to be a mean guy, i really love alex , he's awesome, but if this is about his brother, which is possible, then it means, his brother might have been a person who wasn't really gifted like alex, and might have not had many friends and was feeling down at times. I'm not sure if it is 100 percent about his brothers, it's just a thought. But this is still a song that really makes me wonder everyday, what the truth in it really is, if it's really about his brother, or someone else. | |

| I see what Alex is trying to say. He's from a small town in Maryland, he grew up there with all of his friends,until ATL got very successful with their music, they ended up having to spend a lot of time in LA and NYC. You can see it's based on them having to be away from all their close ones, and they describe the fact that they meet 'fake' people in those cities. It's more based on LA. He thinks he isn't the right person to end up walking on a red carpet in LA, like they do for example at the woodie awards or mtv awards. He never expected this to happen, and still isn't sure if it's right, so he does not wants to be part of it, he's just throwing away days in such city, and just wants to stay home where he'd belong. He wonders how on earth he ended up there, so the whole point of this song is, to get away from somewhere you're not sure wether it's the place for you, and avoid friends slipping away, because of being away for such a long time, due to their musical career. I'm from LA, and i don't like that fact Alex wrote that kids are named after cars, friend of a famous person....etc. It's because in reality, people in LA or NYC aren't like that, 98 percent of the people here are middle class folks, raising families, and they surely don't name their kids after cars, and i know that, People are normal here, not fake, a lot of people have the image of ppl not being real here, i don't see it that way, maybe cause i'm from here, but i understand what alex is trying to say, he's from somewhere else, and may not belong to such place, because of all his friends back home. I totally get him, i wouldn't want to leave LA for NYC for example. because of my friends and families. It;s based on sticking to where you belong to and friends. | |
