I had this experience where I had some feelings for this guy and he DEFINITELY had them for me. A woman just knows when a man is TOTALLY attracted to her. I think he tried really hard not to be into me. Anyway, he tried to stay away, as best he could. He tried to play games with me. The funny thing was, I think he thought sometimes that I was communicating with him (playing his game), when often it would be some random person. The whole thing was really weird. But the bottom line was, when he SAW me, in real life? He was always wishing he could be with me. How sweet. I think he could probably relate to this song. |

I was just thinking about "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck. And how that sad character Lennie kills things that show him nothing but love. How that is so tragic, but life goes on. And how BEAUTIFUL life is. "In every bit of honest writing in the world there is a basic theme. TRY TO UNDERSTAND MEN, if you understand each other, you will be kind to each other. Knowing a man well never leads to hate and nearly always leads to love.... TRY TO UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER." John Steinbeck said that and I agree with him. Even though this Viva La Vida song is such old news, I was thinking about it today. I was thinking about how that King must have felt so awful. I was thinking about how he lost something very precious to him. It made me think of Lennie, the killer of precious things. And it made me remember to always strive to see the beauty in life. And to always try and understand other people because it leads to love. |

I agree with what you said about life. That it is full of challenges and terrible things can happen, but to never give up. I would also say to strive to see the beauty in it all. Do your best to BRING beauty, peace and happiness to others. I think love is the reason we are all here. |

I know you are entitled to your opinion, but I respectfully disagree. I think it is ABSOLUTELY a love song. It is about how people come into our lives and affect us, enter our hearts and become a part of us. How loving someone fully, COMPLETELY HURTS. But, maybe you don't know about that. All of this business about lost innocence and good/evil makes me think you are a tortured soul. Yes, bad things happen in the world. Yes, there are people who intentionally harm others. I realize we can't turn our heads and deny that. But, the beauty in life and in people FAR outweighs the bad. It is amazing to me how some people can go through life and not take in all of the loveliness there is. Take this song for instance. It is sad, for sure. But what I take away is how beautiful it is. I take away how lucky we are to experience life and love and music. And you talk about "withered bodies". Eeeew. |
