But he said he was afraid of "Joe" i think its more general then to one girl. The beginning of the song depicts a monkey in a cage, being deprived of interaction (touch). I think its more about being outcasted, and ignored. All he wants is to interact with others, but is so scared to, he just turns away, kicking himself ("How can this be so, im afraid of Joe") Is more like his only friend, who he finds it hard to talk to, but Joe is the same way, and they're always afraid of losing each other as a friend because of something they said. |

Because thats the point of music, honestly, does anything REALLY fit in a song? i mean if you really break it down, its just a bunch of jumbled words, im sure they wrote it down before it had a chance to really process.. no dude, its about looking towards his church for a solution, and it seems to me like a metaphor for religion and commercializm being as one. the church trying to buy him off, and leaving him with no help, just feeling nervous, and scared. like a woman narrowly avoiding rape. and "bone machine" is just a whore reference, someone you constantly pleases a mans "bone" |
