I like this song. And I'm in agreement that it is about feeling awake and alive in faith with God. However, just one part of the song always irks me (which is annoying cos this is one of my favourite songs): "I'll do what I want 'cause this is my life" This is after saying he's awake and alive in his faith with God, but this particular line just comes off to me as "I'm still going to go my own way [and not God's]". I know what he's getting at, but it just seems like bad wording (to me). |

Also, one of the things that occured to me relate to the second verse where it says: "And all of the world Is singing in time As the heavens are caving in" I took this to mean one of two things: - Everyone in heaven is singing praises in time, and it's causing the heavens to "cave in" - It's about the new heaven and new earth prophecied in Revelation, and the heavens caving in are the old... But yeah, that's assuming one views this from a Christian's standpoint. |

Farrah Fawcett: I think "cold religion" refers to the fact that, in the end (and no offense to anyone here in particular), that's what religion comes down to. Man's attempt to please their god, when it's futile. Christianity, to those born again, is never defined as "religion". It's a relationship with Jesus. If God didn't give His life "to put motion inside [our] soul" we would still be bound by the Law, and rather than following God out of love, we'd be following the Law, which, if you look at even the blanket rules, is hard (even impossible) to follow. |
