Hm this song seems to me about how the world is trying to conform him, to suck him into all the lies in this world, and maybe he's starting to give in.. but he's still determined to not surrender and hes calling out to God for help to not give in. I dunno thats kind of how I took it, but it's probably off :P |

Hm. Im surprised no ones commented on this one yet... anyways. I like this song. It seems to have a very straighforward message to me. We do so many thingas that a normal person would hold against us, but God forgives us for our sins. When he says Ive loved another, Ive always understood it as He's idolizing something (money ect.) and it's gotten in his way of God. When it says Take me to our Secret place, Ive always thought it refered to either his own heart, or just worship in general. I really like this song. Easy to understand, but still very Skillet. Im really loving their new album and hope they come out with more like it :D |

I agree with alot of the comments posted here.. When I heard the album version the first time I screamed when they messed his voice... I wasnt expecting it at all.. Well I kind of was because a freign had told me about it, but not in detail.. so I was expecting something.. but yah I screamed and it scared my mom lol |

This song really makes me want to cry, which is kinda weird because I can only ever really cry to songs that I can relate to, and I cant relate to this song at all really.. I can kinda see this from 2 perspectives.. The Christian perspective and the everyday person perspective. i see it more from the evryday person perspective though.. mostly because it reminds of this one guy that Ive liked for YEARS, and Ive always been there and he knows it, but always seems to chase after someone else who's hurt him soooo much. And The line "I wonder why youve been hurting" really makes me think of him, because he always seems to be hurting in some way, but we never get the chance to talk anymore, so I can still tell when he's mad but I cant do anything about it but wonder. Funny thing is he was the first person to ever tell me about Skillet :) |

I love this song and I cant wait for the release of Awake. I agree with swallowthehurt. this song can be looked at from a Christian perspective and from a normal everyday person perspective. I think its about going through some stuff that you cant handle, you're not superhuman and cant do everything right. To me its feeling like you cant do it without someone to help you, a hero to save you. You want to fight and stand up for what you beileve in, whatever that may be, but you're afraid because you're just one person. But then you kind of come to realize that you've got a hero living in you, and then realizing that no matter what happens if you stand up, you'll always have the hero that saved you. Haha of course as a Christian the hero is obviously God.. to me at least. Haha that was alot longer than i meant it to be :P |
