my interpretation of this song is the deforestation in the world..the speaker's personal experience of the many lovable moments she spent in a forest, particularly remembering this one tree by the river...if you notice she states "there used to be a tree" meaning it's not there anymore..she is then saying she fears loosing the attachment she once felt with nature... |

this song is up for many interpretations...my personal and first impression of this song would be of a young lady whose tried to commit suicide and in the "end" she will be jugded, condemned to either hell or heaven..."so beautiful and terrible"..in the sense that death is endowed with beauty and pain.. |
