| Ben Folds – Late Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
In the beginning, he's describing all the dirty clubs he used to play in the 90s when he was just getting started. Ben says, "You saw them too, but you never will again". There's something I find very powerful about this. It's sort of reminiscent of a soldier who got through the war describing another man from his platoon. RIP Elliott. Keep on rocking Ben. |

| David Bowie – Kooks Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Fun to think that this song was written for a baby at the time, but now he's become a pretty good artist in his own right -- as a film director though. Moon was a good movie. |

| The Kinks – Session Man Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I like to think this was Ray Davies' tribute to the under-appreciated session musicians. Guys who were talented and impeccable in their performance and propped up the careers of decadent, loutish rock stars who wouldn't be able to make a recording without them. | |
| Air – Universal Traveler Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Until I read the lyrics here, I thought the singer was repeating "You need a soul traveler". | |
