Maybe it's not that complex. Maybe he just wants another person to admit that he/she loves him (too). Why don't you call me yours?
Still, it might mean something deeper: this is just too obvious. |

I agree with kristina ks, but I think it's not only about the way he makes her feel. It's also the confusing part of being in love. It's not always the same, it's changes. "Today I am": yesterday she was something different and tomorrow she'll be something else. "I am thrown against the sky, I am raining down in pieces": sometimes he lifts her up, sometimes she's broken by the pain. |

I think it's about some kind of murder-chain. Someone killed a friend of the "you" (let's call him Y). The I-person (Matt?) pushes Y to take revenge.
"Your number has been called": that's about this is the moment Y has to take revenge, M gives him hardly a choice. "You've got to be the best": he has to show teh killer of the killes friend he doesn't let the murderer get away with it. "Fights and battles have begun": There's been a lot of blood until now, it's time for Y to end the battles by one dead (a kill?). "Change the world": that kill will release a lot of people from all the fights and battles.
I know this sounds very scary and dramatic, but hey: this is MUSE. |

I think he doesn't love her for real. For some reason, he is obligated to love her. "Bringing me down" and "...sore, 'cause it's good". It's not what he wants, but "it is good". Maybe he stays with her because of pity ("DARK shines"). But he doens't want to know that he's not staying with her because of love. "hold your hands up to your eyes". Ans then the part of "I will consume your innocence". He says in fact: let's just be 2gether, and don't consider the truth. I guess... |

I think he loved his girlfriend very luch, but didn't show it enough. Then, she left him for some other guy, a mean one. He laughs at de first boyfriend, because he has "won" the girl. He says that de first boyfriend should have loved her more. The first one gives up waiting for her. The girl realizes that the first one really loved her, while the one she's with now is a jerk. So in the end she is punished for being so blind.
But the comment of Blue Bit is also possible. |
