Your reply, Honeyed, is SO well written, except all of it rests upon your confusion of the word "depraved" with "deprived." Depraved; marked by corruption or evil; deviating from what is considered moral or right or proper or good. Deprived; marked by deprivation (lack of, withheld) especially of the necessities of life or of healthful environmental influences. I'd like to see your reinterpretation with the actual wording, if you care to do it. I liked your first post well enough. |

The correct line is "Honest to God I *will* break your heart" There is no contraction there. If you listen closely to the song, both the singer and the background chorus distinctly say "I will," not "I'll." I'm only anal about it because this is one of my all-time favorite songs. |

"When she loses her temper Nobody knows her But today the silence is over" today should be "tonight" in the final line there. |

| I love TDG for actually making emotional lyrics that stay blunt. I get sick of the subtle lyrics bands get overly showy with occasionally. I cannot say I have ever disliked a TDG song. They're just too honest. | |

I really don't get how small typos get made so easily, or why there isn't a "petition to change lyrics" button. Maybe it's just me not understanding how this site works, but shouldn't the lyrics be screened better if they're so hard to get changed? "Or end up at the bottom to watch it all ends" should be "Or end up at the bottom to watch how it all ends" Not going to double check the rest of the lyrics since I doubt it'll change much. |

| Pretty straightforward song about a falling out. I'm inclined to say that it's a breakup song, but it could just as easily be about a friend who deserved to be erased from the author's life. | |

No offense funeraldancer, but I'm curious where you got anything about spirits or death or the aftermath of a near death experience from. It's not anywhere in the song lyrics, unless you count "stabbing", which is clearly not meant literally by the singer. Where would croatoan fit into that? The video, of course, looks to be just a subtle metaphor in the form of an action sequence. I strongly suggest anyone interested in the song's meaning watch it. The basic chronology is a man is bound and locked in the trunk of a speeding car. He frees himself, climbs over the car and manages to get into it, and stop it. There's a brick with a letter tied to it sitting on the seat next to him. He opens it, reads "Croatoan" and the car explodes. In the name of putting forth actual information, I'm quoting Khaostheory133's post "This song in a tongue in cheek manner speaks of saving the environment and literally putting it in a jar for later. The drummer said it over the radio." |

| This song is so straightforward it doesn't even need an interpretation. He's addicted to someone who doesn't care about him beyond a notch on her bedpost. Oh, and he likes it. | |

He includes Hitler because he's talking about the conformity factor of so many bands - the "emo-boy haircut" is reminiscent of Hitler. Honestly, it doesn't even take analyzation to get what he does. He makes a logical connection between two visuals. I imagine it's supposed to be funny, if you haven't thought of it before. Honestly - go look at Hitler's wiki. He has an emo haircut. |
