Bitter Taste

To me, this song is certainly not straightforward. I didn't even think of this as being about a relationship that has broken up. This could be about the evolution of one's own personality. We all have many different personas depending on who we interact with. As we mature and become more aware of how we relate to the world, we realize that our old faces and personas were very meaningless in the context of who we have evolved to be in this moment.

This song could also be taken as an escape from the negative factors that drown you, that pull you away from the higher, lighter aspects of life. A bitter taste results from anything that has oppressed or controlled you (even within your own mind!). The song could signify the recovery that prevails and the remnants that linger.

My favorite song on the album. Same great riffs TDG always has.

Pretty straightforward song about a falling out. I'm inclined to say that it's a breakup song, but it could just as easily be about a friend who deserved to be erased from the author's life.

Great song. The meaning is pretty obvious. Its about breaking up with someone, feeling like you desperately want them back, but realize you're a lot better without them. I've been there, so I can relate to this song. Again, awesome song.

This is undoubtably my favorite song off of this album. It reminds me of a particular ex of mine that was very controlling and possessive, and how I am free from him (have been for a while) and have erased him.

My favorite line (which is the chorus): "Betrayed disgraced, You've been erased. So long, I have erased you. So long, so long... I have escaped the bitter taste of you."

I also love the guitar solos. Go Barry.

Honestly, "You`re so disappointing But you make good use of it As your world disassembles Better keep your head up" are some of my favorite lyrics EVER !!!!

great song . i think its about a guy and chick breaking up and it hurts him but he is glad she is out of his life cause she treated him like garbage.

Is it just me, or do most of the songs on the new album relate to someone leaving? Do you think something happened between Adam and Naomi?

Well obviously this is about a relationship that has not worked out the way he planned, and it plagued him, but he has/is getting over it by removing the "bitter taste" this girl has left.
